Discussion: Intestinal wind with hematochezia (bleeding from the rectum) is caused by wind pathogens in the intestines and stomach, combined with Qi deficiency and internal heat. When blood is affected by heat, it flows recklessly and seeps into the intestinal cavity, resulting in bleeding. Ancients stated that bleeding before stool is called "near blood" (Jin Xue); bleeding after stool is called "far blood" (Yuan Xue). The distinction between near and far blood must not be ignored.
