It is stated that individuals with weak constitutions lack sufficient qi from grain and food. Since the Spleen and Stomach are already deficient, cold and hot pathogens easily disturb them. The Spleen and Stomach (Zang-Fu organs responsible for digestion and transformation) serve as the officials of the granary, distributing and transforming essence-qi to irrigate and nourish the four peripheries. When their qi is weak, dietary intake, whether cold or hot, often fails to digest, causing Yin and Yang to contend and cold and heat to clash, thus resulting in disharmony between the Spleen and Stomach.
