Discourse states: When food and drink enter the stomach, the Spleen is responsible for their transportation and transformation. Now, with deficiency-cold of the Spleen and Stomach Qi, cold pathogenic factors invade, causing food and drink to fail to digest, leading to a mixture of clear and turbid qi. The cold transfers into the Large Intestine; upon receiving cold, the Large Intestine loses its ability to consolidate and contain, resulting in diarrhea and dysentery.
