Discussion states: Gui Na (Ghost Malaria) is caused by the invasion of external pathogens. When the body's true Qi is internally deficient and the Shen (Spirit) fails to maintain its guard, Gui Xie (Ghost Pathogens) take advantage of the opportunity to enter and remain for a long time. Consequently, there are symptoms of mental confusion, erratic mood swings (anger and joy), alternating chills and fever, as if controlled by an external force, with recurrent attacks that stop spontaneously.
