To treat dryness-dampness hemorrhoids, this formula applies to both male and female types of hemorrhoids.
Huai Zi (Sophorae Fructus), Gan Qi (Dried Resin of Toxicodendron Vernicifluum), Qin Jiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix), Wu Zhu Yu Gen Bai Pi (White Bark of Evodiae Radicis) (each 4 liang), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus inner bark), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix), Bai Lian (Bombycis Batryticatus? Note: Context suggests a root/bark, likely Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix or similar, but keeping literal "White Covering" as per text structure if specific ID unclear, however standard is often Bai Lian = Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix or similar. Given the list, let's use standard Pinyin for safety if species ambiguous, but usually Bai Lian refers to *Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix* in some contexts or *Bombyx*. In *Qianjin*, Bai Lian is often *Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix* or *Puerariae Radix*? Actually, in TCM, Bai Lian is typically *Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix*. Let's stick to Pinyin/Standard English). *Correction*: In *Ben Cao Gang Mu*, Bai Lian is *Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix*. However, in ancient texts, it can vary. I will use *Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix (Bai Lian)*. Wait, looking at *Qianjin*, Bai Lian is often *Puerariae Lobatae Radix*? No, that is Ge Gen. Bai Lian is *Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix*. Let's proceed with *Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix (Bai Lian)*. Mo Li (Ostreae Concha), Long Gu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Mammuti), Lei Wan (Polyporus), Ding Xiang (Caryophylli Flos), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Ji Li Zi (Tribuli Fructus), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) (each 2 liang).
The above sixteen medicinal materials are ground into fine powder, mixed with honey to form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take twenty pills with warm water, three times daily. (*Qianjin Yi Fang* omits Bai Lian. Shen Shi Fang omits Huang Qi. It states: Treats those suffering from sudden dryness, swelling, and pain; those with massive bleeding; those with mouse-milk-like growths attached to nodes; and those with internal intestinal itching and restlessness. These conditions, if left for three to five years, can be fatal. Avoid alcohol and strenuous labor; violating these taboos will cause recurrence.)
Formula for treating five types of hemorrhoids persisting for ten years.
Huai Zi (Sophorae Fructus) (3 jin), Bai Tang (Sugar) (2 jin), Fan Shi (Alumen), Liu Huang (Sulfur) (each 1 jin), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Gan Qi (Dried Resin of Toxicodendron Vernicifluum), Long Gu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Mammuti) (each 10 liang).
The above seven medicinal materials: crush and sieve four of them; finely chop the two mineral substances. Place them in a copper vessel along with the sugar, add one shi of rice, and steam. Squeeze out the juice using cotton cloth to mix with the medicinal powder. Roll by hand into pills the size of sophora seeds. Dry in the shade. Take twenty pills with wine, three times daily, gradually increasing to thirty pills.
Treatment is the same as above.
Huai Zi (Sophorae Fructus) (2 dou), Huai Dong Nan Zhi (Southeastern Branches of Sophora Japonica, finely chopped) (1 shi), Huai Dong Nan Gen (Southeastern Roots of Sophora Japonica, finely chopped) (3 shi).
Place the above three medicinal materials in a large cauldron. Add sixteen hu of water, boil until reduced to five hu, clarify the liquid, then further decoct to obtain one shi six dou. Cook two hu of millet. Add twenty jin of yeast starter to ferment. Stir when cool, seal with mud, and let stand for seven days. Once the wine is ready, drink the clear liquid according to one's tolerance, aiming for a slight intoxication. At that time, take the dregs, boil to extract juice, and use this for rinsing rice and cleaning vessels; do not use plain water due to the taboo against raw water.
Another formula: Apply Bear Bile (Xiong Dan). Continue until healed; the effect is divine and superior to all other formulas.
Another formula: Collect Huai Zi (Sophorae Fructus) abundantly on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. Cook thoroughly, pound to extract juice, place in a copper vessel, cover tightly with multiple layers of cotton cloth, and set on the high door of the residence. Sun-dry for more than twenty days. Decoct until forming pills the size of mouse droppings. Insert into the anus, three times daily. Also treats fistula and various sores.
Another formula: Take ten liang of fresh white bark of Sophora Japonica (Huai Bai Pi). Cook thoroughly, pound, and form into pills the size of bullet shots. Wrap in cotton cloth and insert into the lower part (anus/genitals). This disease benefits greatly from frequently consuming Bian Zhu Ye (Phyllostachys Pubescens leaf?) and drinking cooked porridge/soup.
Another formula: Take three carp intestines. Roast over fire until fragrant. Wrap in cotton cloth and insert into the anus for the duration of one meal. The parasites should emerge to eat the fish intestine. Replace frequently. After using three sets, the condition heals. Another method: Roast the intestine until fragrant, sit on it to allow parasites to exit. This has been effective over time.
Another formula: Hu Tou (Tiger Head Bone), Xi Jiao (Rhino Horn).
Grind the above two materials into powder. Mix with lard (Zhu Zhi) that has not been mixed with water. Form into pills the size of a chicken egg. Apply to the sore until healed.
Formula for treating five types of hemorrhoids and rectal prolapse:
Huai Bai Pi (White Bark of Sophora Japonica) (2 liang), Zhu Zhi (Lard) (half jin), Qi Zi (Toxicodendri Verniciflui Fructus) (10 pieces), Tao Ren (Persicae Semen) (10 pieces), Ba Dou (Crotonis Fructus) (7 grains), Xun Cao (Agastaches Herba?), Xun Huang (Realgar), Xin (Xin Yi / Magnolia Flower).
Note: Text says "Xun Cao (one version Xun Huang) / Xin". Likely Xun Cao (Agastache) or Xun Huang (Realgar) and Xin Yi. Let's list as extracted.
Chop the above ten materials. Decoct with "three lifts and three drops" (method of heating). Remove dregs. Soak cotton cloth in the ointment and plug the orifice, four to five times daily. When parasites die, the condition heals; relief of itching and pain is excellent.
Formula for treating five types of hemorrhoids:
Xing Ren (Apricot Seed) (square, three fingers wide, sliced), Xun Huang (Realgar) (date-sized, powdered), Shu Ai (Moxa Wool, cooked) (egg-sized).
Dig a hole in the ground to mix the above three materials. Use the heat/smoke to fumigate the affected area. It is ideal if the smoke of Realgar is smelled in the mouth. Stop when the fire energy dissipates completely. Rest for three days and recuperate.
Another formula: Boil Sophora roots and wash the affected area.
Another formula: Boil Peach roots and wash the affected area.
Formula for treating five types of hemorrhoids:
Dispel blood stasis and remove toxicity. [Text seems fragmented here: "Pi... San Wei Xun Zhi..."]. Using Almond, Bark, and three materials to fumigate hemorrhoids and penetrate toxicity. Sophora root is used to resolve stagnation, Peach root to disperse blood. These are external treatment methods.
