http://37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=7308
http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=9105

http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=95&fpage=1
http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=8793&fpage=1
http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=2383

I would like to ask the Master again. Since the child is too young to drink a whole bowl of medicine at once, we pour the decoction into a lidded porcelain cup and add water to steep it slightly, similar to brewing tea. We feed him the small amount obtained, and after he finishes drinking, we steep it again. Apart from 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, we also give him small amounts at intervals throughout the day. There is no fixed quantity equivalent to two bowls of water; over the course of a day, the total volume may exceed two bowls. May I ask if this method is acceptable? Is it incorrect? If the prescription specifies "two bowls," what kind of bowl should be used?
I earnestly request your reply!!

Urgent, urgent, urgent! Master, the child has already taken three doses of the prescription. Just now, the child experienced severe coughing. This episode lasted for more than half a minute, bringing up a small amount of white phlegm. The child sweated profusely all over his head and body, which was quite frightening. I am terrified that he might choke or stop breathing...
What should I do? I am burning with anxiety and beg for your help!!!!
Master, please deign to reply. I am in extreme distress...

Thank you, Master Sanqi Sheng, for replying amidst your busy schedule. Thank you!
There is one more question. Please do not scold me, as I am dull-witted (my lack of medical knowledge is evident, and my previous actions have demonstrated this; I hope you do not hold this against me). Having just arrived here, I cannot clearly interpret your meaning. Does your previous statement imply that I should not insist on finishing the fourth dose, but rather change the prescription?
Also, should I continue applying a hot water bag to the back?
Thank you, Master Sanqi Sheng! I will report the child's progress tomorrow. Good night!

Medication was stopped today. In the morning, there were two dry coughs. In the forenoon, there was one cough, which was relatively intense, with a slight rattling sound indicating phlegm. The delivery room of the hospital where the child was born had air conditioning. Could it be that he contracted cold pathogenic factors at birth? He was born somewhat dark-skinned.

January 19, 2006, 23:24
Hello, Master Sanqi Sheng!
First, I apologize for troubling you during this period. I read the "Ten Untreatable Conditions in Traditional Chinese Medicine" recommended by Master Guyue. Based on my behavior, I fit seven or eight out of ten cases, wishing I could beat my head against the ground and crawl into a crack. However, Master, you may not know that after failing to find medical help for the child's initial illness, I accidentally encountered your Herb Hall. After reading Mr. Wu Qingzhong's *The Human Body Usage Manual*, which you recommended, I was deeply impressed by the systematic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, feeling as if enlightened by a sudden revelation. I firmly believed I had finally found the truth and immediately sought a prescription from you. Your prompt reply filled me with uncontainable joy. However, I did not expect the misunderstanding and one-sided views of society towards Traditional Chinese Medicine to be so profound. Almost everyone blindly adheres to some pseudo-scientific Western medical theories and instinctively rejects Traditional Chinese Medicine because they cannot understand it. Consequently, fierce conflicts erupted between my family and me. By the time Western medicine diagnosed the child with pneumonia, I was enraged. I finally secured one night's time; if there was no improvement the next day, the child would be sent to the hospital for intravenous fluids. That night, I was overwhelmed with grief and indignation. I grieved that the status of Traditional Chinese Medicine was so low, and I was indignant about why it was so low. I hardly slept. The next morning, I went to the hospital. The X-ray results showed that the so-called pneumonia had miraculously disappeared. The Western doctors were speechless. I was so excited that I could not speak. I thought I could finally eliminate my family's prejudice and demonstrate the brilliance of true Traditional Chinese Medicine. However, I was still too naive. People's prejudices are so deep-rooted. I had to constantly explain, argue, and provide evidence to ensure the child took his medicine on time, rather than being taken away for "anti-inflammatory treatment" or "integrative medicine." These past few days have been agonizing; I felt extremely lonely, and you, Master, were almost my only spiritual pillar. However, several people used my ID to reply to my posts, which may have caused many misunderstandings for you. It seems you are angry with me. Here, I offer myself for punishment! Now, four doses of medicine have been consumed, but the child is still coughing. My family is arguing again about taking him for anti-inflammatory treatment. I really do not know how to explain the child's current symptoms to them. I boldly implore you to help me and save me from this lonely struggle. The child's main current conditions are "cough, presence of phlegm, chills, complexion appears slightly bluish, occasional cough at night, and profuse sweating." I first kowtow to thank you.

Later, I learned that Master Sanqi Sheng had prescribed medicine in post 32, so I relaxed. I replied in the afternoon of that day (later, flyingsddk saw my reply on January 22, 2006). Guyue, hello, I am flyingsddk. At my most bewildered moment, thanks to your earnest guidance, I express my deep gratitude. In our exchanges, I offended Master Sanqi Sheng many times, and I feel very sorry, yet I had no opportunity to explain to him. Recently, due to the child's illness, the psychological pressure has been immense. As a ignorant person, the feeling is hard to describe. Now, there is one matter I wish to ask you. The child has finished four doses of medicine. Yesterday, symptoms appeared including runny nose, profuse sweating, severe cough, and expectoration of some white phlegm. Master Sanqi Sheng instructed to stop medication, but today there is still cough and rattling sound. My understanding is that we should begin the "nourishing" phase of "three parts treatment, seven parts nourishment." I wonder if my understanding is correct. Can you help review my posts? I kowtow to thank you in advance.

Content:
When the Master said "stop medication and observe," it was not because he was angry with you or unwilling to treat you. It may be that some of your handling was inappropriate, disturbing the condition, requiring observation.
How to persuade your family? Your explanation may have limited effect. Since they also use the internet, please ask them to read the case records from the Herb Hall. Let the efficacy speak. You should know that the Herb Hall has over two thousand case records. They are not only visible to the Master and patients; netizens worldwide can see them. Just for your child's case, over 400 people are currently concerned (you didn't expect that, did you?)! If the Master failed even such a minor illness, it would surely become the hottest discussion topic immediately.
Please make good use of the search function (the third link from the right in the upper right corner of this page, labeled "Search").
Enter keyword: Cough
For "Search Scope," click on the right side of "Search All Open Forums," and select: Futai Herb Hall
For "Search Only Titles / Search Post Content," select: Search Only Titles
Alternatively, enter keyword: Common Cold
Then look for case records involving cough.
Please look. If these minor illnesses were treated directly by the Master, wouldn't they be cured in a few doses?
(I often browse the Master's case records in the Herb Hall. I haven't seen the Master fail with such minor illnesses.)
If treated by Western medicine previously, please look at the results of Western treatment for "pneumonia." See the "Onset History" of this case:
http://37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=7308
http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=9105
Is your child's illness severe? Please look at this case (not "pneumonia"). The Master's medicine cured the disease instantly. If handed over to "integrative medicine" or Western medicine, the consequences would be unpredictable.
*Emergency! 7-Month-Old Infant with Cold, Fever, Convulsions, and Syncope* (See page 173 of this book)
http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=7218&fpage=1
"Warm hot water bags applied alternately to the back and feet, sweating profusely"
The Gui Zhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) modified by the Master is inherently designed to harmonize Yin and Yang and induce sweating to release the exterior. Doing what you did likely causes excessive sweating. Do not do what the Master did not instruct you to do. Regarding medication timing, follow the Master's instructions. Do not randomly administer medication at other times.
http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=95&fpage=1
Gui Zhi Tang Formula
Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) 3 liang (peeled), Gancao (Licorice Root) 2 liang (honey-fried), Shaoyao (White Peony Root) 3 liang, Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) 3 liang (sliced), Dazao (Jujube) 12 pieces (split).
These five herbs are crushed. Boil in 7 sheng of water, simmer gently to obtain 3 sheng. Strain. Take when temperature is suitable. Drink 1 sheng. Shortly after drinking, consume more than 1 sheng of hot thin porridge to assist the medicinal power. Cover warmly for about an hour until a slight, uniform sweat appears over the entire body, which is beneficial. Do not allow sweating like flowing water, otherwise the disease will not be eliminated. If sweating occurs after the first dose and the disease improves, stop subsequent doses; there is no need to finish the entire prescription. If no sweating occurs, administer again according to the previous method. If still no sweating, shorten the interval between subsequent doses, allowing three doses to be completed within half a day. If the disease is severe, administer over one day and night, observing for a full cycle (12 hours). If the disease persists after finishing one dose, prepare another dose. If no sweating occurs, administer up to two or three doses. Prohibit raw/cold foods, sticky/slippery foods, meat/noodles, five pungent spices, wine/dairy, and foul-smelling substances.
Since breastfeeding, your dietary prohibitions are the same as the child's: prohibit raw/cold foods, sticky/slippery foods, meat/noodles, five pungent spices, wine/dairy, and foul-smelling substances.
Do not add sugar or milk to the medication.
Formula: Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) 8g, Baishao (White Peony Root) 8g, Zhigancao (Honey-Fried Licorice Root) 5g, Chenpi (Tangerine Peel) 4g, Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) 4g, Fuling (Poria) 4g, Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) 2 slices, Dazao (Jujube) 1 piece (split). (Steep in boiling water and drink. One bowl at 7:00 AM and one bowl at 3:00 PM. Four doses.)
Guest Question: I want to confirm whether brown sugar, white sugar, or milk can be added to the baby's drink?
Master Sanqi Sheng Answers: Cannot add.
http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=8793&fpage=1
Recovery takes time. Do not wish for early recovery or "control." The number of doses prescribed by the Master indicates the time required for this illness. Subsequent handling may be needed based on circumstances.
Guest Question: Master Sanqi Sheng, if Western medicine cannot be taken during an attack, how should symptoms be controlled?
Master Sanqi Sheng Answers: Cannot control. One can only eliminate the pathogenic factor and nourish the healthy Qi. Methods that damage longevity by overdrawing Yuan Qi to relieve temporary symptoms are not used here!
There is no concept of "control."
http://www.37tcm.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=2383
Therefore, you and your family should not be nervous. As long as you stay away from Western medicine and are treated under the Master's care, you can be completely at ease.

You are not alone. Everyone is on the same front as you and is also caring.
However, due to clinic rules, general words of encouragement will not be posted.
My child is nearly 6 months old. Since birth, he has never been to a hospital. I have seen through and hate the Western medical approach. The constant medicine cabinet in my home is my Traditional Chinese Medicine cabinet. I threw away all previous Western medicines. My family now listens to me. There is no dispute or conflict on this matter because my family has undergone regulation and treatment by Master Sanqi Sheng. They admire him greatly and are "devoted" to the motherland's medicine. I also pay attention to pediatric case records in the Herb Hall and will communicate more in the future. :-)
Here is a method for feeding herbal decoctions to children: Feed them when they have just woken up or are drowsy near sleep; this can deceive them into swallowing a considerable amount.
Additionally, you can try this method:

Hello, Master!
Upon seeing your reply, I immediately prepared the medicine. Today, two out of the five doses have been consumed. I will now report the child's condition to you: I feel that after stopping medication for one day the day before yesterday, the cough worsened slightly. Over the past two days, the cough has had a rattling sound, which is relatively obvious. There is occasional coughing during sleep at night, and the breathing sound is somewhat coarse. Just now, a small lump of yellow phlegm was expectorated.
Please instruct, Master. Thank you!

Hello, Master!
I just remembered. The child's complementary food today was noodles, with pork balls and mashed yam added. For the rest of the time, he consumes breast milk and infant formula powder. May I ask if his complementary food contributes to the cough?
Trouble you, Master!
