The *Qianjin Fang* (Thousand Golden Prescriptions) treats mouth sores that have not healed for a long time, with sores extending to the chest, persisting for more than three years without healing.
Decoct rose root (Rosa rugosa Root) in concentrated juice, hold it in the mouth, and gradually swallow it. After three days and nights, it will heal. Collect roots in winter and stems/leaves in summer.
Another prescription:
Apply ash from burning *Coronilla scorpioides* (Jiaohao) to the affected area. It shows effect after one night and heals after two nights. Do not swallow the juice; stop when healed.
Furthermore, it is discussed that: For anyone suffering from mouth sores or dental diseases, strictly avoid oily noodles, wine, soy sauce, vinegar, sticky/greasy foods, and dried dates. It is even better to continue avoiding these for seven days after healing. If one does not maintain strict dietary precautions for a long time, the condition will recur quickly. If treated again after recurrence, healing will be slower. Be cautious, be cautious. Rose root and *Coronilla scorpioides* are miraculous herbs for treating mouth sores, yet people are unaware of this.
The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases) states: The Foot-Taiyin Splein Meridian (Zu Taiyin Pi Jing) connects its qi to the mouth; the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian (Zu Yangming Wei Jing) and Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian (Shou Yangming Dachang Jing). These meridians run alongside the mouth. If the zang-fu organs are deficient, they are invaded by wind-pathogen, dampness, and heat. The pathogenic qi emerges in the vessels and contends with body fluids, generating sores. These often present as moist, ulcerated lesions with exudate, known in the world as "Fei Chuang" (Fat Sores).
The *Qianjin Fang* treats angular cheilitis (Kouwen Chuang).
Apply fresh white bark of catalpa tree (Qiubai Pi) moistly to the affected area, changing frequently until healed.

Another prescription:
Burn one end of a dead branch of white poplar (Baiyang) on an iron surface until hot, then apply the hot end to the affected area. This prescription records treatment for Yanwen (Angular Cheilitis).
Another prescription:
After steaming rice, use the hot rim of the steamer basket to moxibustion/warm-compress the affected area thirty times. Repeat two or three times until healed.
