For the Sheng-Qi [Vitality] direction, it is beneficial for the parturient to sit or lie facing this direction, which promotes longevity for the infant and auspiciousness for both mother and child.

Regarding the Bi-Du [Closing Belly] direction: during the month of delivery and for one month after birth, one must not urinate, defecate, or discard dirty water towards this position. Violating this leads to qi obstruction and difficult labor, sallow complexion, abdominal pain resembling umbilical colic, throat discomfort, and misfortune.

Regarding the Ba-Zhuang [Eight Strong] direction: the doors of the birthing tent must not face this direction, nor should childbirth take place in this direction. Doing so causes qi obstruction and difficult labor, which is highly ominous.

If the Yun-Gui-Li-Shi [Ghost Transporting Warrior] direction is violated, it may cause the parturient to feel faint and near death until the day of delivery. In such cases, loosening the bag opening (symbolizing releasing taboos) facilitates easy delivery and auspiciousness.

During the Fan-Zhi [Reverse Branch] months, menstrual blood must not stain the ground, as this may result in fetal death in utero or difficult labor. One must first spread ash and straw, then lay horse or donkey hide upon it before delivering, which is auspicious.

On Xuan-Shi [Hanging Corpse] days, one must not climb ropes; instead, hang a horse bridle and hold onto it, which is auspicious.

When the Annual Direction and Ben-Ming [Life Branch] coincide, sitting while holding the horse bridle is auspicious.
