千金翼疗水气肿鼓胀，小便不利，山琏治韦司业得差，司业侄云表所送云数用神验。莨
菪丸方。
莨菪子（一升） 羚羊肺（一具青羊亦佳汤微炼即薄切之曝干捣作末）
上二味，以三年大酢，渍莨菪一伏时出之，熬令变色，熟捣如泥，和肺末蜜和捣作丸，
食后一食久，服如梧子大四丸，麦门冬饮服之喉中干口粘妄语为候，数日小便大利即瘥。
麦门冬饮法。
麦门冬（二十五枚去心） 米（二十五粒）
上二味，以三合半水煮之，米大熟，去滓以下丸。每服常作。（千金同出第二十卷中）

*Qianjin Yi Fang* treats edema and abdominal distension caused by water qi, accompanied by difficulty in urination. Shan Lian cured the illness of Wei Siye (an official title), and Wei's nephew Yunbiao presented this prescription, stating that it has proven highly effective upon multiple uses. **Langdang Wan** (Datura Pill) Prescription.
**Langdangzi** (Daturae Fructus, 1 sheng) **Lingyang Fei** (Antelope Lung, one piece; blue sheep lung is also excellent). The lung should be slightly boiled, thinly sliced, sun-dried, and pounded into powder.
Take the above two ingredients. Soak **Langdangzi** in three-year-old strong vinegar for a full day (fu shi), then remove and stir-fry until the color changes. Pound thoroughly until it becomes a paste. Mix with the lung powder, combine with honey, and pound to form pills. Take four pills, sized like sophora seeds, about an hour after meals, washed down with **Mendong Yin** (Ophiopogon Drink). The therapeutic effect is indicated by dryness in the throat, sticky mouth, and delirium. After a few days, when urination becomes abundant and smooth, the disease will be cured.
Method for preparing Mendong Yin.
**Mendong** (Ophiopogonis Radix, 25 pieces, heart removed) Rice (25 grains).
Boil the above two ingredients in 3.5 he of water until the rice is fully cooked. Strain out the dregs and use the liquid to take the pills. This preparation is used for each dose. (Also found in Volume 20 of *Qianjin Yao Fang*)
Emergency prescription for treating abdominal distension and hardness due to water qi, which has proven effective in repeated trials.
**Tinglizi** (Descurainiae Semen seu Lepidii Semen, 7 liang, roasted) **Fuling** (Poria, 3 liang) **Wuzhuyu** (Evodiae Fructus, 2 liang) **Jiaomu** (Zanthoxyli Semen, 3 liang; choose those that sink in water) **Gansui** (Kansui Radix, 5 liang).
Pound and sieve the above five ingredients. Combine with honey to form pills sized like sophora seeds. Take five pills with water, three times a day. If ineffective, gradually increase the number of pills. Stop when bowel movement becomes loose. Adhere to general dietary restrictions for medication, and avoid sour foods. (From Volume 9)
*Gujin Luyan* prescription for severe edema where the abdomen is drum-like and hard as stone. (From *Hu Qia Fang*)
**Tingli** (Descurainiae Semen seu Lepidii Semen, 1 sheng, roasted) **Jiaomu** (Zanthoxyli Semen, 1 sheng) **Mangxiao** (Natrii Sulfas, 6 liang) **Shuiyin** (Hydrargyrum, 12 liang).
Boil and refine the **Shuiyin** in water for three days and nights, adding water frequently, until the mercury turns yellowish-white and fuses. Pound the medicines sixty thousand times until they naturally mix uniformly into pills sized like sophora seeds. Take one pill before meals, three times a day. Increase by one pill daily up to ten pills. If ineffective, restart from one pill. The condition should improve through increased urination. Consume high-quality beef or mutton broth.
