(It is commonly known as "Fengshi" [Wind Arrow])
The *Huangdi Suwen* (Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine) states: When Wind Evil invades the interior of the muscles, the deficiency of the muscle tissue causes the True Qi to scatter. Additionally, Cold binds the skin, causing external emission into the Couli (pores and interstitial spaces). The movement of excessive pathogenic Qi results in itching.
Therefore, Urticaria (Nettle Rash) and pruritic diseases all originate from this mechanism. Some red rashes appear suddenly, feeling like mosquito bites with annoying itching, rising in layered mounds, and wheals form immediately upon scratching. (This corresponds to the *Shanfan* formula)
*Shenshi Fang* (Deep Master's Formulas) Powder for treating ten types of rashes.
*Artemisia anomala* (Guijian), *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao, Licorice Root, roasted), *Ampelopsis japonica* (Bailian), *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Baizhu), *Alumen* (Fanshi, Alum, calcined, each 1 liang), *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fangfeng, 2 liang).
Crush and sieve the above six herbs. Rub the body thoroughly with 5 he of vegetable rice flour. Mix the herbal powder into the flour and pound together. Take a dose equivalent to 5 fen bi (a small scoop), three times daily. Eat meals in between. If ineffective, increase the dosage. Avoid consuming *Laminaria* (Haizao), *Brassica rapa var. pekinensis* (Songcai), peach, plum, and sparrow meat. (From Volume 10)
