Jiyan Fang (Collected Proven Prescriptions) for treating Bai Tu (White Baldness).
Roast mutton meat until fragrant, similar to making jerky. Apply while hot to the affected area. No more than three to five applications are needed for recovery. (Also found in Qianjin Fang [Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold])
Another prescription:
Take equal parts of soybean skull bone and burn them into powder. Mix with lard from the twelfth lunar month to form a paste. Apply to the lesion; recovery is immediate.
Song Li Jian (Pine Sap Decoction) from Qianjin Fang, for treating head sores and Bai Tu (White Baldness).
Song Li (Pine Sap, 7 he) Dansha (Cinnabar, ground) Xionghuang (Realgar, refined powder, 2 liang each) Shuiyin (Mercury, ground) Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, 1 liang each) Fanshi (Alum, 1 liang; if Alum is unavailable, use Xiaofen [Saltpeter], 1 liang, calcined)
Grind the above six ingredients into a powder. Mix into the pine sap, stir well, and apply. First, wash the head with rice water until clean and remove all scabs from the sores. Then apply the medicine three times daily. Pus will subsequently form. After the pus drains, wash again and reapply the medicine. Repeat this process of inducing and draining pus three times. Finally, use Gancao Tang (Licorice Decoction) to detoxify, washing approximately ten times until cured.
Another prescription for Bai Tu (White Baldness), where hair falls out and white scabs form, persisting throughout the year without healing.

Grind and sieve the above ten ingredients. Decoct with one sheng of pig fat. Add Xionghuang and Cihuang first, then Jishibai, then honey, then Songzhi, and finally the other powdered herbs. All herbs should be powdered separately beforehand. Once the ointment base is ready, wash the head with ash water from mulberry branches before application.
