Tao's Emergency Method: Formula for treating women who interact with ghostly entities, speaking and laughing alone, or experiencing sorrowful thoughts and mental confusion.
Pine resin (three taels, melted) Add Realgar (powdered, one tael)
Mix the above two ingredients using a tiger claw until uniform. Form into pills the size of bullet seeds. At night, burn the pill in a cage. Have the woman sit naked on top of the cage, quickly cover her head with cloth, leaving only the head exposed. After three fumigations, the condition will be cured. (Same as recorded in *Shen Shi Fang*)
Another Formula
Realgar Ginseng Saposhnikovia root (each two taels) Schisandra berry (one sheng)
Pound the above four ingredients into a powder. In the morning, administer one cun-bi (a measure for powder) with Jinghua water (first drawn well water). Take three times daily.
Another formula for men and women who suffer from mental confusion due to frequent dreams of spiritual intercourse.
Deer horn fragments, taken with wine, three cuo per dose, three times daily (All from Volume II)
Five Formulas for Baihu Disease (White Tiger Disease)
*Jin Xiao Lun* states: Patients with Baihu disease mostly suffer from toxic influences of wind, cold, summer-heat, and dampness, caused by deficiency. Improper care leads to exposure to wind pathogens, causing stagnation in the meridians and blood... [Text gap/omission here].
Rhinoceros horn (shavings) Angelica sinensis Peony root Achyranthes bidentata Agarwood Aquilaria wood Tiger skull (roasted, eight fen each) Musk (one fen, ground fine) Oak leaf veins (one handful, roasted)
Cut the above nine ingredients. Boil in six sheng of water until reduced to two sheng and six dou. Strain the dregs. Divide into three warm doses. Administer one dose every time a person walks four or five li. Additionally, take musk powder separately. If diarrhea occurs, avoid raw vegetables, hot noodles, buckwheat, and garlic. Su Xiaocheng on treating Baihu disease says: Both women and men can contract this disease. Women contract it during childbirth; men contract it during sleep. This is called "offending the White Tiger." The symptoms include locked jaws, clenched fists, and inability to breathe.
Moxibustion at the umbilicus (Qihai/CV8), seven moxa cones (Alternatively, moxa at Danzhong/CV17, seven cones)

Charcoal ash (five sheng; if charcoal ash is unavailable, mulberry ash may be used, filtered through gauze once) Earthworm feces (one sheng, pounded) Safflower (seven pinches)
Mix the above three ingredients together and heat them. Warm strong vinegar and mix in. Wrap the mixture in old cloth (three to four layers), divide into four portions, and apply alternately to the affected area. Simultaneously recite the following incantation:
"Green rabbit skin, green hair out; Yellow rabbit skin, yellow hair mountain; Red rabbit skin, red hair out; White rabbit skin, white hair out; Black rabbit skin, black hair out. Quickly exit my mouth spirit, my mouth saint. Spit on mountains, mountains collapse; spit on stones, stones crack. I have your name, you must not leave. Chop heads, chop heads. Speedily according to the law."
To perform the incantation, first have someone spit on the painful area and rub it continuously without stopping, then recite the incantation immediately. The number of repetitions is unlimited; stop when cured. Do not let the patient or bystanders hear the incantation. Rinse mouth thoroughly before reciting. The effect is unparalleled. Do not transmit this method lightly.
Another Formula for Wind-Toxic Swelling, All Malignant Swellings, and Curing Baihu Disease.
Take five sheng of three-year-old strong vinegar, heat and boil for three to five boils. Cut scallion whites (two to three sheng), boil for one boil. Immediately strain using a sieve-like tool. Wrap in cloth while hot and apply as a hot compress to the diseased area. Continue until cured.
Another Formula for Treating Baihu Disease.
Pork meat (three strings) Hemp seeds (one he) Wine (half zhan)
Mix the above three ingredients. Chew the hemp seeds in the mouth. Hold three strings of pork meat, tear apart with hands, move towards and away from the painful area while reciting the incantation: "Zhang Ruyi and Zhang Dexing of Xiangzhou are your original masters of the White Tiger. Exit quickly!" After the incantation, place the meat under the bed. The illness will heal. Sending off the Road Head God is effective.
