[Painful Ingrown Toenail Preventing Walking]
Decoct Chenpi Tang (Tangerine Peel Decoction) until concentrated. Soak the affected area for a long time. The nail and flesh will naturally separate. Gently trim away the ingrown nail. Apply Hugu Mo (powder of Tiger Bone) to achieve relief.
Another formula: Apply the ash of Hutaopi (Walnut Peel) by burning it and using the ash topically.

[Various Formulas for Treating Furuncles (Ding)]
First, puncture the head of the furuncle (ding) with a porcelain shard. Find a live spider (the bigger, the better) and place it on the furuncle. Upon seeing the furuncle, the spider will naturally suck out its toxin. After a short while, when the spider stops moving, remove it and place it in cold water; it will revive on its own. If the furuncle is not cured, the spider can be used again for suction, or another spider can be used, continuing until the toxin is completely extracted. Regardless of the furuncle's location, even if the toxicity is severe, pain is extreme, the patient is unconscious, and life is in critical danger, this method can immediately revive them.
This method can also be used to draw out toxin for snake-head sores (paronychia) on fingers and bites from venomous snakes or insects.

Take Ruxiang (Olibanum, one piece), Shexiang (Moschus, a piece the size of a grain of rice), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, powdered), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus, powdered), Taoren (Persicae Semen, two pieces, peel removed), and the liver and intestines of a toad (Hama). Combine these five ingredients in a mortar and pestle, pound into a paste. Spread the paste on a piece of white bark paper and apply it to the affected area. Remove it along with the furuncle after three or four days.

For severe furuncle toxin (ding du), recurrence after apparent healing indicates that the furuncle root (ding gen) has not been expelled. If not treated urgently, upon recurrence the root will penetrate deeper and become difficult to treat. Use Badou (Crotonis Fructus, one piece, oil removed) and Ruxiang (Olibanum, one fen, oil removed), pound them together into a paste, mix with cooked rice to form a cake, and apply it topically. After a short while, the furuncle root will emerge on its own. Another formula: Use Congbai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus) mixed with Fengmi (Mel). Puncture the furuncle and apply the mixture. In about the time it takes to walk five li, the root will emerge on its own.

Burn human fingernails into powder and place on the affected area. Crack a walnut open flat, remove the kernel, chew it until pasty, place it inside half a walnut shell, and cover the affected area, ensuring no air exposure. In about the time of a meal, the furuncle root will emerge.

Pound fresh Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) together with白糖 (white sugar) into a paste and apply topically; the furuncle will dissipate.

Chew fresh Huangdou (Glycines Semen) into a paste and apply topically; it is extremely effective. Another formula: Apply thick, yellow, loose chicken droppings around the furuncle. Puncture the head of the furuncle, leaving the head uncovered. Very effective. Another formula: Apply thick tobacco tar from a pipe around the furuncle, leaving the head uncovered. Shortly after, the furuncle will rupture, discharge fluid, and heal. Remarkably effective. If red streaks (lymphangitis) are present, apply tobacco tar about three fen away from the streak; the streak will not progress further. Another formula: Cockroaches from the stove, any amount, pound into a paste and apply. The furuncle root will emerge on its own. Another formula: Pound bedbugs together with cooked rice until uniform, apply to the furuncle. Can immediately draw the furuncle root out. Another formula: Sheng Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum) and Shihui (Calx) (equal parts), pound into powder, apply to the sore.
Mix uniformly, form into a bean-sized pellet. Place on a teaspoon and heat over a lamp flame for a moment to form a pill. Puncture the head of the furuncle with a silver needle and paste the pill on it. Cover externally with saliva-moistened tissue paper. Pain stops immediately. A truly wonderful formula. Another formula: Pound Qingshi Mo (powder of bluestone) together with Lizhi Rou (Litchi Semen) into a paste. Mix with droppings from a brooding hen to form a dry paste and apply. The root will be drawn out on its own, with miraculous efficacy. Another formula: (The text here seems incomplete, possibly referring to some kind of meat) and Baimei Rou (Mume Fructus pulp) (three pieces each), pound into a cake and apply. The root will emerge. Another formula: Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Hujiao (Piperis Fructus), Longgu (Mastodi Ossis Fossilia), Banmao (Mylabris, legs and wings removed, processed), and Zaojia (Gleditsiae Fructus, peel and seeds removed) in equal parts, pound and sift. Mix with wine and seal over the sore. Apply once daily. Another formula: First puncture the sore to draw blood, then apply Haipiaoxiao Mo (powder of Sepiae Endoconcha). The furuncle root will emerge. Another formula: Machixian (Portulacae Herba, two fen) and Shihui (Calx, three fen), pound until uniform, mix with Jidan Bai (egg white) and apply. Another formula: Grind the kernel inside Zaojiazi (Gleditsiae Semen) into powder and apply. Apply several times; healing in five days. Another formula: Puncture the furuncle, pound Laocong (old Allii Fistulosi Bulbus) and Sheng Mi (raw honey) together and apply. After two shi (approx. 4 hours), the furuncle root emerges. Wash with Cu Tang (vinegar soup). Miraculously effective. Another formula: Jili (Tribuli Fructus, one sheng), process by heating and pounding, mix with vinegar, and seal over the head to draw out the root. Another formula: Named Da Ji Gao (Knoxiae Radix Paste). Use genuine Hongya Daji (Knoxiae Radix, whole pieces), wash clean with warm tea, chew into a paste and apply. Immediately relieves pain and heals. If it recurs, apply again to achieve a cure. Do not swallow the juice while chewing. (Also treats all malignant sores and Yin-type abscesses.) The white juice of Kucai (likely a bitter herb), apply to draw out the root. Dry the green seedlings in the shade. In winter, mix with water and apply; also effective. Another formula: Mix wheat flour with La Zhu Zhi (lard from winter-slaughtered pig) and seal the application.
