Lard of a male pig (4 liang) *Mylabris* (3 individuals) *Ephedrae Herba* (Ma Huang, 麻黄) (5 qian) *Ricini Semen* (Bi Ma Zi, 蓖麻子) (100 grains, shell removed and ground into paste) *Semendryopteridis Crinitae* (Da Feng Zi, 大枫子) (100 grains, shell removed and ground into paste)
First, melt the lard, add *Mylabris*, and boil for several boils. Then remove the *Mylabris*. Next, add *Ephedrae Herba* (Ma Huang, 麻黄), and fry until withered. Filter to remove the dregs. Mix the pulp of *Semendryopteridis Crinitae* (Da Feng Zi, 大枫子) and *Ricini Semen* (Bi Ma Zi, 蓖麻子) evenly, ready for application.
Take a large piece of *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huang Bo, 黄柏), coat it with lard, roast it until powdered, mix with sesame oil, and apply to the affected area.
Stubborn tinea (chronic fungal skin infection) is caused by the accumulation of damp-heat, with parasites moving within the skin. Cases that are stubborn, thick, and hard are commonly known as psoriasis (niupixuan). It is appropriate to use *Baibu Gao* (Stemonia Ointment) for topical application.
*Stemonae Radix* (Bai Bu, 百部) *Dictamni Cortex* (Bai Xian Pi, 白藓皮) *Ricini Semen* (Bi Ma Zi, 蓖麻子) (shell removed) *Pyrrosiae Folium* (He Shi, 鹤虱 - note: typically refers to *Carpesii Fructus* or *Artemisiae Argyi Folium* in some contexts, but here likely *Pyrrosiae Folium* or similar antiparasitic herb, standard term often *Pyrrosiae Folium* or *Artemisiae Capillaris Herba* depending on region, WHO uses *Pyrrosiae Folium* for Lu Ye, He Shi is often *Carpesium abrotanoides* fruit or *Artemisia capillaris*. Given context of tinea/parasites, *Carpesium abrotanoides* (He Shi, 鹤虱) is most likely.) *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huang Bo, 黄柏) *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Dang Gui, 当归) *Rehmanniae Radix Preparata* (Sheng Di, 生地) (each 1 liang) Beeswax (2 liang) Refined Realgar Powder (5 qian) Sesame Oil (8 liang)
First, put *Stemonae Radix* (Bai Bu, 百部) and the other six herbs into the oil and fry until withered. Filter out the dregs. Re-boil the oil until a drop forms a bead when dropped into water. Test with beeswax; it should not disperse in water. Take the pot off the heat, mix in the realgar powder, wait until slightly cool, then transfer to a porcelain jar for storage. Allow the "fire energy" to dissipate before use.
Method for saving self-inflicted throat cuts: For those who have cut their throats but the trachea is not completely severed, do not expose the wound to water. Immediately suture the wound using hemp thread. Apply fine powder of *Draco Sanguis* (Xue Jie, 血竭) externally. Then, heavily apply "Number One Golden Wound Medicine" under the world, cover with cotton paper, and secure tightly with cloth bandages wrapped around the foot/ankle area (note: text says "jiǎo" leg/foot, possibly a typo for "gāo" paste or specific binding method, literal translation: wrap with cloth and tie with thread). Change dressing every two days. Keep the head immobile. Recovery occurs in ten days.
For bamboo or wood splinters embedded in flesh that cannot be extracted, drip water from ground ivory. After a while, the splinter will emerge naturally. Alternatively, crush *Gryllotalpa* (Lou Gu, 蝼蛄) and apply the paste; the splinter will also come out. If blood coagulation and swelling occur after a long time, use *Huari San* (Flower Stamen Powder) mixed with ivory water for topical application. The blood stasis will dissipate, and the splinter will be expelled along with it.
Grind *Huari Shi* (Huari Stone, 花蕊石) into powder (8 liang) and sulfur powder (4 liang). Mix evenly, store in a clay jar, seal the mouth, reinforce with salt mud, ensure it is dry, and place in a wind furnace. Apply fire above and below, smelt for the duration of two incense sticks. After cooling, open, grind, and sieve into an extremely fine powder. Store. This powder is a divine medicine for resolving blood stasis.
