Bai Bo Feng (Vitiligo) arises between the face and neck, caused by the interplay of Wind pathogen forming white spots. In severe cases, it spreads over the whole body without pain or itching; treatment should focus on dispelling Wind and applying ointments for recovery.

[Note] This condition starts from the face to the neck, where skin color suddenly turns white, resembling spots, with no itching or pain. It results from Wind pathogen interacting within the skin, leading to disharmony of Qi and Blood. Treatment should be initiated early; if neglected for a long time, it may spread to the entire body in severe cases. Initially, take Fuping Wan (Duckweed Pill), followed by Cang'er Gao (Xanthium Ointment). Externally, scrape the affected area first with pieces of Pangolin Scales (Chuan Shan Jia) until dryness and pain are felt, then apply Eel Fat (Man Li Yu Zhi) three times daily. Another method involves washing the area with warm water from tree holes; after washing, crush Cinnamon Heart (Gui Xin) and Oyster Shell (Mu Li) in equal parts, grind into powder, mix with flour oil for application, three times daily and once at night, both methods are effective.

Fuping Wan (Duckweed Pill)
Zi Bei Fu Ping (Purple-backed Duckweed - Select large ones, wash clean, sun-dry)
Grind into fine powder, form pills with refined honey, size like a marble. Take one pill per dose, delivered with Dou Lin Jiu (Black Bean Dripping Wine).

Dou Lin Jiu Preparation Method
Half sheng of Black Beans (Hei Dou), stir-fried until smoke rises, pour in three jin of pure wine, soak for one day and night, remove beans, use the wine to deliver the medicine.

[Prescription Song] Fuping Wan is suitable for treating Bai Bo Feng, using sun-dried large purple-backed duckweed, formed into honey pills the size of marbles, taken with bean wine, specifically capable of releasing the exterior and dispersing Wind pathogens.

Cang'er Gao (Xanthium Ointment)
Cang Er (Xanthium - Fresh material, including roots and leaves, take 50-70 jin, wash clean)
Cut into pieces, boil in a large pot until soft, extract juice, filter through silk cloth, further simmer into an ointment, store in porcelain jars. When used, scoop one spoonful with a mulberry wood spoon, hold in mouth, and swallow with yellow wine. After taking the medicine, small sores the size of bean grains will inevitably appear at sites of Wind pathogen accumulation; this indicates the expulsion of Wind toxin. Puncture them to drain all fluid, and it will heal. Avoid pork.

[Prescription Song] Xanthium treats Wind pathogen invading the skin, where Qi and Blood disharmony generates Bai Bo Feng; fresh Xanthium with roots and leaves, washed clean and simmered into ointment, taken with wine, proves effective.

Yang Feng (Ulcerative Wind) arises from the skin, with no itching or pain in the neck, chest, and axillae; presenting as connected purple and white spots that do not enlarge, caused by the condensation of Wind pathogen and Heat in the skin.

[Note] This condition manifests on the skin, mostly occurring in the neck, chest, and axillae. The color is purple and white, with connected spots, also without itching or pain. Compared to Bai Bo Feng, the lesions are rounder and do not spread or enlarge. It is formed by Wind pathogen stagnating and transforming into Heat within the skin, lingering for a long time without dissipating. One should take Wu She San (Black Snake Powder). Externally, use Root of Greater Hawkweed (Yang Ti Cao Gen) mixed with Sulfur (Liu Huang), grinding them into a thick juice with vinegar on a rusty iron sheet, applying two to three times daily is effective.

Grind all together into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mix with warm wine after meals. Avoid chicken, pork, fish, garlic, wheat products, and hot-natured foods.

[Prescription Song] Wu She San treats Yang Feng with Heat invasion, containing Qiang Huo, Fang Feng, Chuan Xiong, and five types of Shen (Ren, Sha, Dan, Yuan, etc.), Zhi Zi, Gui Xin, Qin Jiao, Mu Tong, Xi Jiao, Ji Li, Sheng Ma, Zhi Ke, Bai Xian Pi, and Huang Qin.
