Sanpin Yitiao Qiang (Three Minerals Single-Spear) (See Scrofula Section)
[Indications]
Treats eighteen types of hemorrhoidal fistulas. Insert medicinal thread into the fistula opening morning and evening. Initially insert three threads per session; after four days, insert five or six threads per session. Continue for 7-8 days until the medicinal power is sufficient and the hemorrhoid/fistula turns purple-black. Stop insertion. Wait for pus to flow from cracks around the hemorrhoid. By day 14, the lesion should fall off. Clean with Licorice Decoction, then apply Fengchu Gao (Phoenix Ointment) or Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) to generate flesh and contract the wound. For weak patients, concurrently administer blood-nourishing and spleen-strengthening medicines for stability. Generally, physicians who successfully treat hemorrhoids rely on this formula. Do not despise the medicine or discard it.

Add 1 qian of finely ground Qingfen (Calomel), and 5 fen each of Rushxiang (Frankincense), Xuenu (Dragon's Blood), and Longgu (Fossilized Bones) powders. Mix thoroughly in the oil. Zhu Xian Fang (Thread-Boiling Formula)
[Verse]
The Thread-Boiling Formula uses Biqian (Spider Web) and Yuanhua (Genkwa Flower) decocted together.
Boil white silk thread with them. Used to tie off roots of hemorrhoids and tumors.
[Indications]
Treats various hemorrhoids and five goiters/six tumors. Particularly effective for lesions with small stalks and large heads. Tie the root with the prepared thread.
[Composition]
Yuanhua (Genkwa Flower, 5 qian); Biqian (Spider Web, 2 qian).
[Administration]
Place 3 qian of white silk knotted thread in a small porcelain jar with the two herbs and one bowl of water. Simmer slowly until the water evaporates. Dry the thread in the shade. For treatment, use one strand (two for larger lesions), double-knot around the base, leaving ends loose. Tighten gradually over days. The lesion will turn purple-black, cold, and insensible. Mild cases resolve in 7 days, severe in 15 days, becoming necrotic and falling off. Afterwards, use Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder) to close the wound excellently.
Zanglian Wan (Intestine-Linked Pill)
[Verse]
Zanglian Wan originally uses Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) powder stuffed into pig intestine for boiling.
Pounded into pills, taken with warm wine, ensuring hemorrhoids do not linger.
[Indications]
Treats hemorrhoids of any duration presenting with bleeding, pain, and anal heaviness/prolapse upon flare-up.
[Composition]
8 liang of purified Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) powder. Stuff into a 1 chi 2 cun segment of the end of a male pig's large intestine, washed clean with warm water. Tie both ends tightly. Boil in 2.5 jin of rice wine in a clay pot until the wine is nearly dry. Remove the intestine and medicine, pound together into a paste. If too soft, sun-dry for an hour and pound again into pills the size of Sophora seeds.
[Administration]
Take 70 pills each time, swallowed with warm wine on an empty stomach. Long-term use eradicates the root cause.
Hulian Zhuidu Wan (Anchusa Pursuing-Toxin Pill)
[Verse]
Hulian Zhuidu Pill is unique; its efficacy for fistulas connecting to the intestine is rare.
Taking pills with Shexiang (Musk) and Ciji (Tribulus) drains stasis and pus, replacing bad tissue with good.
[Indications]
Treats hemorrhoidal fistulas regardless of duration, where a tract connects to the intestine and discharges foul matter. First use this pill to drain all pus and toxins. Subsequent effects are most stable.
[Composition]
Huhuanglian (Anchusa Officinalis Root, 1 liang, sliced, stir-fried with ginger juice); Ciji (Tribulus Fructus, 1 liang, roasted, sliced, stir-fried yellow, ground); Shexiang (Musk, 2 fen).
[Administration]
Make pills the size of hemp seeds using soft rice. Take 1 qian each time before meals with wine. Increased discharge of pus/water after taking indicates the medicine has reached the target; do not fear.
Huilian Biguan Wan (Coptis Closing-Tube Pill)
[Verse]
Huilian Biguan Pill is easy to see but hard to achieve its merit.
Shijueming (Concha Arcae), Shanjia (Pangolin Scale), Huaihua (Sophora Flower), etc., bring smiles after consumption.
[Indications]
Treats fistulas.
[Composition]
Huhuanglian (Anchusa Officinalis Root, purified powder, 1 liang); Shanjia (Pangolin Scale, boiled in sesame oil until yellow); Shijueming (Concha Arcae, calcined); Huaihua (Sophora Flower, lightly stir-fried, ground) [each 5 qian].
[Administration]
Make pills the size of hemp seeds using refined honey. Take 1 qian each time on an empty stomach with clear rice soup. Take twice daily (morning and evening). Severe cases heal in 40 days. This formula avoids needles, knives, and ligatures, sparing the patient suffering. It is indeed a good prescription for stubborn diseases. If hard flesh protrudes around the fistula opening, add 20 stir-fried mulberry cocoons, ground and mixed in. Effective for all systemic fistulas.
