Chuanhuai Ju (Penetrating Ankle Abscess) is caused by damp-heat from the Three Yin Meridians of the Foot (Liver, Spleen, Kidney) flowing downward and stagnating in the body. Initially, there is swelling and pain at the medial malleolus, with pain penetrating to the bone base, making movement difficult; severely, it spreads to the lateral malleolus causing total ankle swelling. Cases with a head are Yang syndromes, easy to ulcerate; those without a head are Yin syndromes, difficult to suppurate. Both types initially present with alternating chills and fever, suitable for treating with Jingfang Baidu San (Astragalus and Saposhnikovia Decoction) added with Achyranthes Root (Niuxi) to disperse pathogens. If pus forms after a long time causing distending pain, it should be punctured with a needle. For rotting wounds that fail to heal with large holes, Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) is used to nourish tissue; for patients with weak physical constitutions, tonification methods are applied. If this condition is not treated early, neglect can lead to disability.
Jingfang Baidu San (See "Shidu Men" chapter)
Yuhong Gao (See "Zhongyang Men" chapter)
Dama Feng (Leprosy/Mal de Choeur) is a special disease in heaven and earth. Etiologies vary: some individuals with weak constitutions are suddenly invaded by extreme sun exposure, dew, fog, wind, or rain, feeling no immediate discomfort, failing to vent the pathogen, leading to stagnation in skin and muscles, which eventually manifests as disease. Others suffer invasion by wind pathogens after sexual intercourse due to weakness, or sleep exposed to wind outdoors, or on damp ground; or bathe and cool off seeking temporary pleasure... All these modes of pathogen acquisition can cause the disease. Symptoms begin with numbness and insensitivity, followed by red spots; over time, the skin breaks down, swells without pus. It is said: "Skin death" presents as numbness; "Flesh death" as insensitivity to knife cuts; "Blood death" as broken skin oozing fluid; "Tendon death" as finger joint detachment; "Bone death" as collapse of the nasal bridge. These five conditions are all incurable. Furthermore: Heart involvement first damages the eyes; Liver involvement causes purple blisters on the face; Spleen involvement causes body-wide lesions resembling tinea; Lung involvement causes eyebrow loss first; Kidney involvement causes perforation of the soles first. These are called the Five Failures. Generally, this is caused by Wind-Dampness attacking each other, Qi and Blood stagnation, disharmony between exterior and interior, obstruction of Zang-Fu organs, and transformation by Yang Fire, which constitutes the root of the disease. In the initial stage of numbness where flesh is not yet dead, Wanling Dan (Ten Thousand Spirit Pill) bath and sweat induction are suitable to dissipate stagnant wind; subsequently, Shenying Yangzhen Dan (Divine Response Nourishing True Pill) added with equal parts of Agkistrodon (Baihua She) should be taken long-term for self-healing. For chronic cases with broken skin and dead flesh, Biseng San (Invincible Powder) is used first to unblock Zang-Fu; then Wanling Dan is taken, one pill dissolved in wine daily to unblock blood vessels. After one month, switch to Kushen Wan (Sophora Pill). Mild cases improve in half a year, severe cases in one year. Alternatively, medicated wine can be taken concurrently. Abstinence from sexual activity, rich flavors, and wind-aggravating foods ensures lifelong remission.

This indicates the medicine has reached the disease site. Large and small bowel movements will expel green, white, black, yellow stools, or red worms, which are the disease roots. Three doses within a month lead to gradual cure, eyebrows and hair regrow, skin returns to normal. If gums bleed, use the following mouthwash.
