Xuefeng Chuang (Blood Wind Eczema) arises from the mutual interaction of wind-heat, damp-heat, and blood-heat pathogens. Upon onset, it causes excessive itching; when broken, it exudes serous fluid, and the lesions spread gradually. For severe cases, internal administration of Xiaofeng San (Wind-Dispersing Powder) with added Niuxi (Achyranthes Root) and Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark), combined with external application of Jiedu Xionghuang San (Antidote Realgar Powder) or Ruyi Jinhuang San (Ruyi Golden Yellow Powder), is effective. If the condition persists for years, presenting as purple-black and hard with stagnant Qi and Blood, use needle scarification to drain the dark blood, followed by fumigation using Shendeng Zhao Fa (Divine Lamp Illumination Method) to resolve stagnant toxicity, then apply the aforementioned medicines externally for efficacy.
Jiedu Xionghuang San (Antidote Realgar Powder)
Treats rheumatism flowing into the legs and feet, causing blood wind stubborn ulcers characterized by purple-black discoloration and itching.
Xionghuang (Realgar, 4 liang) Liuhuang (Sulfur, 8 liang)
Grind these two ingredients into fine powder, mix with bitumen for topical application, cover with paper, and change every three days.
Ruyi Jinhuang San (Ruyi Golden Yellow Powder) (See section on Swollen Ulcers)
Indications are the same as above.
Mix with bile from a male pig to form a thick paste, apply to the affected area, cover with oiled paper without moving it, wait for natural detachment, and reapply if redness appears after detachment, continuing until the skin returns to normal white color.
Shendeng Zhao Fa (Divine Lamp Illumination Method) (See section on Swollen Ulcers)
Treats chronic blood wind stubborn ulcers that are purple-black, weeping continuously, and persistently itchy.
First wash the affected area with scallion soup, then ignite a lamp and fumigate the area with the flame. Each fumigation session should last for the burning of two wicks.
Liangxue Xiaofeng San (Cool-Blood Wind-Dispersing Powder) (See section on Scabies)
Wan Xuan (Stubborn Tinea) is caused by the pathogenic factors of wind, heat, dampness, and insects. The lesions vary in size and shape (round or oblique) and differ in dryness/moisture content and duration (new or old). Feng Xuan (Wind Tinea) resembles clouds, with tender skin that flakes white when scratched; Shi Xuan (Damp Tinea) resembles worm shapes, exuding fluid when scratched; Wan Xuan (Stubborn Tinea) does not hurt when scratched; Niu Pi Xuan (Cowhide Tinea) resembles half a piece of cowhide, being stubbornly hard and firm, feeling like rotten wood when scratched; Ma Pi Xuan (Horse Skin Tinea) is slightly itchy with connected white spots; Gou Pi Xuan (Dog Skin Tinea) features clustered white patches. All these conditions are generally due to blood dryness and wind-toxin attacking the Spleen and Lung meridians. In the early stage, use Xiaofeng San (Wind-Dispersing Powder) with 1 liang of Fuping (Mint Weed), using Cong (Scallion) and Gu (Fermented Soybeans) as guides to induce sweating and disperse the pathogen. For chronic cases, administer Shouwu Wan (Polygonum Pill) or Lafan Wan (Beeswax-Alum Pill), externally apply Tudahuang Gao (Wild Rhubarb Ointment), and selectively use Jinpi San (Hibiscus Bark Powder), which can yield gradual improvement.
Tudahuang Gao (Wild Rhubarb Ointment)
Prepared with Baifan (Alum), Liuhuang (Sulfur, 8 liang each), and Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper, 3 ingredients ground together), this ointment treats stubborn tinea easily.
Treats dry or damp stubborn tinea, regardless of new or old onset, where the skin is stubbornly thick, migratory, itchy but painless.
Liuhuang (Sulfur, 8 liang) Shengfan (Raw Alum, 4 liang) Dianhong Chuanjiao (Red-point Sichuan Pepper, 2 liang)
Grind each ingredient separately into powder. Use juice extracted from wild rhubarb roots to mix with the powders into an ointment, stored in a bowl. Apply to scratched areas for new tinea; for chronic tinea, mix with vinegar for application. If the medicine dries out over time, re-mix with vinegar. For Niu Pi Xuan (Cowhide Tinea), scratching the skin with Pangshanjia (Pangolin Scales) before application yields excellent results.
Wan Xuan Bixiao Fang (Certain-Efficacy Formula for Stubborn Tinea)
For chronic stubborn tinea unresponsive to various fumigation, rubbing, applying, or washing treatments, this formula brings immediate cure.
Chuanjinpi (Chrysanthemum Kiusianum Bark, 4 liang) Qingfen (Calomel, 4 qian) Xionghuang (Realgar, 4 qian) Baiyaojian (Black Tea Cake, 4 pieces) Banmao (Mustard Beetle, whole, 1 qian) Badou (Croton Seed, oil removed, 1.5 qian) Dahuang (Rhubarb, 2 liang) Haitongpi (Cryptocarya Cortex, 2 liang)
Grind all ingredients into extremely fine powder. Mix with Yin-Yang Water (mixed spring and well water), apply to scratched areas, and wait for natural detachment.
Additionally: Another Formula for Stubborn Tinea
Chuanjinpi (Chrysanthemum Kiusianum Bark), Banmao (Mustard Beetle), and Qingfen (Calomel) are used in appropriate proportions, plus seven seeds of Dafengzi (Boswellia Fruit). Apply with a new brush to the affected area.
Chuanjinpi (2 qian) Qingfen (0.5 qian) Banmao (7 beetles) Dafengzi (Seven seeds)
Boil one cup of river water and well water together until reduced by half, leave exposed overnight, and apply with a brush.

Zibei Fuping (Purple-backed Floating Duckweed), Cangzhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Cang'ercao (Xanthium Herb) (each 2 liang) Kushen (Sophora Root, 4 liang) Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Jiangcan (Silkworm) (each 1 liang) Gouteng (Uncaria Ramulus, 1.5 liang) Gancao (Licorice Root, 2 liang, steamed with wine)
