Crushed red papules appear on the face and nose, resembling millet grains; upon rupture, white powdery fluid is discharged. It is advisable to apply Liuhuang Gao (Sulfur Ointment) after washing the face, with recovery expected within a few days.
Liuhuang Gao (see previous section on Nose).
Growths arise inside the nostrils, causing swelling and pain radiating to the forehead, accompanied by alternating chills and fever. In severe cases, the lips and cheeks become swollen. Prompt treatment is required. It is advisable to administer Duoming Tang (Life-Saving Decoction) and Duoming Dan (Life-Saving Pill). Additionally, grind Duoming Dan into fine powder and insufflate it into the nasal cavity.
Duoming Tang (Life-Saving Decoction), Duoming Dan (Life-Saving Pill) (both see section on "Furuncles of Indeterminate Location").
Growths form inside the nasal orifice, resembling millet seeds. Initially, there is a sensation of dryness and pain; in severe cases, the external nose becomes red and slightly swollen, with pain resembling burning fire. This is caused by heat accumulation in the Lung Meridian attacking upwards. Internally, Huangqin Tang (Scutellaria Decoction) should be taken to clear heat. Externally, Chensha Tongtong San (Cinnabar Pain-Relieving Powder) should be applied to the nasal cavity. If dryness is present, Sesame Oil should be frequently applied for lubrication.

This condition often occurs on both sides of the alae nasi in children, presenting as purple macerated patches with oozing pus. It is pruritic but not painful, caused by Wind-Heat in the Lung Meridian. Internally, Zexie San (Alisma Powder) should be administered, and Qingge San (Green Clam Powder) applied externally for cure.

Profuse turbid nasal discharge persists for years. One must distinguish between Cold and Heat: foul-smelling discharge indicates Heat, resulting from Gallbladder Heat transferring to the Brain due to latent Wind-Cold stagnation; Qishou Huoxiang Wan (Miraculous Receiving Agastache Pill) should be used. Clear, odorless discharge with a fishy smell indicates Deficiency-Cold; Bawei Dihuang Wan (Eight-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill) combined with Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong), Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae), and Xercanzi (Fructus Xanthii) should be used. Renal tonics are employed because the Brain is governed by the Kidney. Another condition involves dizziness and brain pain with lack of nasal secretion, known as Kongnao Sha (Brain-Controlling Miasma), attributed to worms eroding the brain; Tianluo San (Luffa Powder) should be used, and pillows made of Peach Leaves can be used for self-healing.
