At the Zi hour (11:00 PM - 1:00 AM), the Spirit of Man (Ren Shen, a concept in acupuncture regarding auspicious and inauspicious times for treatment) is located at the ankle; at the Chou hour (1:00 AM - 3:00 AM), it is at the head; at the Yin hour (3:00 AM - 5:00 AM), it is at the ear; at the Mao hour (5:00 AM - 7:00 AM), it is at the face; at the Chen hour (7:00 AM - 9:00 AM), it is at the neck.
At the Si hour (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM), it is at the breast; at the Wu hour (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM), it is at the chest; at the Wei hour (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM), it is at the abdomen; at the Shen hour (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM), it is at the heart; at the You hour (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM), it is at the back.
