Postpartum wind-stroke with mental confusion refers to the condition where a woman, after childbirth, contracts wind-pathogen and experiences symptoms such as mental confusion and instability of spirit. This is because the Heart governs blood vessels, and Qi and Blood circulate through Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) systems, Zang-Fu organs, and throughout the meridians. Childbirth injures both Qi and Blood, leading to deficiency in the Zang-Fu organs.
