Frozen ears are caused by individuals with weak and soft muscles contracting cold pathogens during winter. The invasion of wind-cold pathogenic factors leads to redness, swelling, itching, and pain in the ears, or may subsequently result in sores.
Formula for treating frozen ears that have developed into sores:
Cacumen Platycladi (San Liang, lightly roasted and powdered) Semen Armeniacae Amarum (Si Shi Jiu Mei, soaked in hot water, skin removed, ground into paste) Capillus Humanus (Liang Ji Zi Da, size of two chicken eggs) Sal (Ban Liang, finely ground)
Boil oil until boiling, then add Capillus Humanus, continuing until it is completely dissolved. Subsequently, add the remaining herbs and boil together until the mixture turns scorched yellow. Filter out the dregs. Apply the liquid to the affected area using cotton.
Another formula:
Cortex Platanifolii (Liang Er) Cortex Ulmi (Liang Er) Cortex Morae Radicis (Liang Er) Semen Armeniacae Amarum (Liang Er, soaked in hot water, skin removed) Radix Glycyrrhizae (Liang Yi) Cerebrum Ovis (Sheep brain)
Finely chop the herbs. Boil them in Sheep brain until yellow. Filter out the dregs and store in a porcelain vessel. Apply the medicine into the ear using a goose feather.
Another formula:
Apply Rabbit brain directly to the affected area.
Another formula:
Take one Jin of Semen Armeniacae Amarum, soak in hot water, remove skins, press to extract oil, and apply to the affected area.
Another formula:
Apply Ziziphus jujuba leaves to the affected area. Afterwards, wash the area with water boiled from Triticum aestivum leaves.
Earwax (Dingning) is formed by the coagulation and accumulation of fluids in the ear. Everyone has it; mild cases do not cause harm. However, if invaded by wind-heat pathogenic factors, it can lead to...
For treating deafness caused by blockage of Earwax (Dingning), where the wax is hard and difficult to remove with forceps, use this formula:
Suet Porci (Yi He) Fu Xia Mo (Half Liang, finely ground)
Mix and blend the ingredients into a paste. Shape into a pill the size of a date pit. Wrap the pill in cotton, insert it into the ear, and allow it to soften the wax before removing it.
Another formula:
Succulum Allii Cepae (San Fen) Radix Asari (Yi Fen) Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Yi Fen, processed, skin and umbilicus removed)
Pulverize Radix Asari and Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata. Mix with Succulum Allii Cepae to a thin consistency and instill into the ear to expel the wax.
Another formula:
Drilus (Wu Qi Tiao, fresh)
Crush and extract juice from Drilus. Instill repeatedly into the ear; the wax will be gently dislodged and expelled naturally.
Formula for treating foreign bodies in the ear that cannot be removed:
Take a bowstring three Cun long. Fray one end, apply good adhesive glue, insert it into the ear to contact the foreign body, hold it there to allow adhesion, and then slowly pull it out.
