Vomiting in women is caused by pathogenic cold affecting the Spleen and Stomach, leading to dysfunction in the digestion and transformation of food and fluids. The Stomach is the sea of water and grain; when its Qi mechanism is disordered, wind-cold pathogens invade. Cold pathogens clash with the Stomach, causing Stomach Qi to rebel upward, resulting in vomiting.
For treating vomiting in women due to rebellious Qi of the Spleen and Stomach, phlegm stagnation in the chest, frequent desire to vomit, and loss of appetite, use Heheli San (Chebula Powder).
Ingredients: Chebulae Fructus Pericarpium (Heheli Pi) (1 liang), Cardamomi Arenarii Fructus (Caodoukou) (1 liang, peeled), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chen Jupi) (1 liang, soaked in hot water, white pith removed, dried), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu) (3 fen), Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (N Houpo) (1 liang), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) (slightly red, sliced).
Process these ingredients by crushing them coarsely and sifting to make a powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Add 1 zhong zhan of water, 0.5 ban of fresh Ginger (Shengjiang), and 3 dates (Zao), decoct until 6 fen remains. Strain the dregs. Drink warm at any time.
