Chancibai Chong (Taenia saginata, beef tapeworm) is one of the Nine Worms. It is about one cun in length, white in color, and small and flat in shape. Due to the deficiency of the Zang-Fu organs, it can be activated. Some say that drinking white wine, roasting beef skewered with mulberry branches, and eating raw millet can cause its formation. Others say that drinking milk or cheese immediately after eating raw fish also leads to its generation. When activated, it causes damage... (The original text seems to have a gap here, continuing to the next part) Treating diseases caused by Chancibai Chong results in eyes losing luster and weakness in the legs and knees.
Bailian San Formula:
Baian (Radix Ampelopsis, 1 liang), Wuyi Ren (Fructus Tsaoko, 1 liang), Yelangya (Herba Siegesbeckiae, 1 liang).
Crush the above herbs, sift them through a fine sieve to make a powder. Before meals, take 2 qian mixed with Jiangshui (fermented grain water).
To treat Chancibai Chong, take the medicine on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd days of each lunar month. Do not take it on other days.
Binglang San Formula:
Binglang (Arecae Semen, 2 liang), Sanggen Baipi (Cortex Morus Radicis, 3 fen, sliced), Wuyi Ren (Fructus Tsaoko, 0.5 liang), Chen Jupi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, 3 fen, soaked in hot water, white pith removed, dried).
Crush the above herbs, sift them through a fine sieve to make a powder. Also take one handful of Dongyin Gen (East-facing root) of Suan Shiliu (Punica granatum), slice it, and decoct it in one zhong of Jiangshui until reduced to 0.5 zhong. Strain, let it warm, and take 2 qian mixed with the liquid. Take the medicine at the beginning of Wu Geng (early morning, around 3-5 AM). If no worms are expelled by dawn, take another dose. On that day, consume only congee. Before taking the medicine, chew light dried meat jerky and swallow the juice to stimulate the worms, then take the medicine; this is very effective.
Formula to transform Chancibai Chong into water:
Bixie (Rhizoma Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae, 1 liang, sliced), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 3 liang, honey-fried until slightly red, sliced), Gouji (Cortex Cibotii, 3 liang).
Crush the above herbs, sift them through a fine sieve to make a powder. Before meals, take 2 qian mixed with congee drink.
Another formula:
Gouji (Cortex Cibotii, 1 liang), Guanzhong (Rhizoma Cyrtomii, 1 liang), Bai Wuyi (Fructus Tsaoko, 1 liang), Suan Shiliu Gen (Radix Punicae Granati, 1 liang, sliced).
Crush and sieve the above herbs to make a powder. Take 0.5 liang per dose, decocted in one large zhong of Jiangshui until reduced to 0.5 zhong. Strain. Take with fine warm water at the beginning of the 4th or 5th watch of the night. Do not eat dinner at night.
Yet another formula:
Yelangya (Herba Siegesbeckiae, 1 liang), Baiji (Rhizoma Bletillae, 1 liang), Baian (Radix Ampelopsis, 1 liang), Bai Wuyi (Fructus Tsaoko, 1 liang).
Crush the above herbs, sift them through a fine sieve to make a powder. Every day on an empty stomach, take 2 qian mixed with warm wine.
Yet another formula:
Binglang (Arecae Semen, 3 pieces, half raw, half roasted), Xingren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum, 7 liang, soaked in water, skin and pointed end removed, double-kernelled, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow), Suan Shiliu Gen (Radix Punicae Granati, one handful, sliced).
Slice the above herbs finely. Decoct in two large zhongs of water until reduced to one large zhong. Strain. Take on an empty stomach, divided into two warm doses. Whenever trying to expel worms, first sit on something warm and eat a little light mutton jerky, slightly roasted, chewed thoroughly and swallowed with juice. Wait until the worms gather, then take the medicine. After a while, if there is discomfort or movement in the abdomen, continue until bowel movement is smooth. Afterwards, take a small bowl of Wuyi Tang to tonify; this will lead to a permanent cure.
Yet another formula:
Shexiang (Moschus, 1 qian, finely ground), Wuyi Ren (Fructus Tsaoko, 3 fen), Gouji (Cortex Cibotii, 0.5 liang).
Crush the above herbs, sift them through a fine sieve to make a powder, mix in the Shexiang evenly. On the first day of the lunar month, take 2 qian on an empty stomach mixed with light Jiangshui. Take again after some time. From morning until mealtime, take 3-4 doses; stop when worms are expelled.
