Generally speaking, wind pathogen refers to the invasion of wind qi into the human body. The human body regards the blood and qi within as righteous qi (Zheng Qi), while regarding the wind qi outside as pathogenic factor (Xie Qi). If living conditions are inappropriate and diet is unregulated, one will be injured by wind pathogen. Symptoms include mental confusion, sadness, and weeping, or manic running without stability, as if possessed by spirits; or stiff and rigid body, or pain day and night, making it impossible to swallow even water or gruel.
