Divine Efficacy Prescription:
Remove the top of a large radish, hollow out the interior, fill it with rice sugar (Mítáng) to the brim, replace the top, wrap it in yellow mud, and bake until cooked. Remove the mud and take.
Fresh watermelon seeds (1–2 sheng, thoroughly washed to remove mud and dust), decocted strongly in a large pot, filtered for clarity, mixed with a small amount of rock sugar, and drunk frequently as tea without interruption.
Heidou (Soybean, *Glycine max*), roasted and ground into powder. Hongzao (Jujube, *Ziziphus jujuba*), boiled, peeled, pitted (quantity as needed), and pounded together with the bean powder to make pills. Take 4 qian per dose, administered with salt water or wine. (Named Kanli Wan)
Another method: Take 2 jin of small red dates (boiled, peeled, and pitted), 1 jin of black sugar (cleaned), pound them together until no white granules are visible, form into one cake, store in a porcelain box. Take 1–2 liang each evening, mixed with boiling water. This is also effective.
Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxyllum bungeanum*), 2 jin (select and remove seeds and closed fruits), stir-fry (until "sweat" appears/oils exude), grind into powder, bind with paste to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 50 pills on an empty stomach.
Aged rice sugar (Mítáng) burned to ash. Take 3 qian per dose, administered with yellow wine and child's urine (Tongbian).
Bai Fan (Alumen, Alum), 1 qian; Ma Shengcai (Lactuca virosa, Lettuce), 1 liang. Decoct in one bowl of water and take.
For bone-steaming consumption (Gu Lao), dry-blood consumption (Gan Xue Lao), and childhood consumption (Tongzi Lao): Use eight bamboo baskets (each about two chi high). Fill them with clean, unadulterated yellow soil from the mountains. Place eight porcelain basins under the baskets. Pour seven buckets of child's urine (Tongbian) into the soil of seven baskets to leach through. Irrigate from above with well water. Collect the leachate from the seven basins and pour it all into the eighth, unused basket to leach again. If insufficient, add clear water to the first seven baskets and collect the leachate into the eighth basket again. Wait for one day and one night. Collect three to five bowls of the leachate, store in a porcelain bottle, and maintain with fresh water externally. When this condition arises and the mouth feels thirsty wanting tea, take half a cup of this liquid to find relief. Even in severe cases, recovery occurs within three doses. (This is a divine prescription.)
Jishi Formula from Prince's Mansion in Henan Commandery:
Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxyllum bungeanum*), 2 sheng (remove closed fruits, lightly stir-fry to exude oils), grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with rice drink (Mi Yin) on an empty stomach. Alternatively, boil rice flour with yellow wine to make pills the size of paulownia seeds.
