Yasong (Ophiopogon japonicus root, dried in shade) is ground into powder. First, wash the lesion with a decoction of Huai Zhi (Cacumen Sophorae branch) and Cong Bai (Scallion white), then sprinkle the powder on it.
Abscesses or boils on the back:
Quan Xie (Scorpion) and He Tao (Walnut) are pounded together into a paste, taken with wine. One or two doses will cause them to subside.
Apply Chi Xiao Dou (Adzuki Bean) powder externally; meanwhile, boil and eat the beans, and drink the juice.
Ulcer that fails to heal with bone protruding from the wound:
Dig a pit, small at the opening and large inside, three chi deep. Place two sheng of dry chicken manure, along with Ai Ye (Mugwort leaf) and Jing Ye (Perilla leaf), crush them into the pit, and burn them to produce smoke. Smoke the abscess with this smoke, cover it with clothing to prevent leakage, and within half a day, worms should emerge.
Wu Tong Ye (Firmiana simplex leaf) steamed with vinegar and applied topically is extremely effective.
Regardless of lateral or central [headache/swelling]:
One piece of She Tui (Snake skin), burned to ash, mixed with good wine and taken orally. Alternatively, take seven tips of fresh Tao Ye (Peach leaf), pound them into a paste with an iron axe, and apply topically.
Ling Bao Gao (Spirit Treasure Ointment) by Lu Zu for treating Fa Bei (Back Carbuncle): Take five Gua Lou (Trichosanthes fruit) (extract seeds and remove shells), and five pieces of Ru Xiang (Frankincense) (about the size of a date). Grind them into fine powder, add one jin of Bai Mi (White honey), and simmer into an ointment. Take three qian per dose, dissolved in warm Huang Jiu (Yellow wine). (This formula was passed down by Lu Zu to a filial son from Tonglu; benevolent people should prepare it to help the world, accumulating great merit.)
Regardless of Yin or Yang nature, whether ulcerated or not:
Take two Sang Tiao (Mulberry branches) (thick as a thumb), burn one end over charcoal fire, extinguish the flame, and use the smoke to fumigate the sore. If not yet formed, it will dissipate; if formed, it will rupture. This is very effective for removing Ding (Carbuncle/Boil) toxins.
Pu Gong Ying (Dandelion) and Ma Chi Xian (Purslane) are pounded and applied topically.
She Pi (Snake skin) burned to ash, mixed with Zhu You (Pig fat) and applied. For sores that fail to heal, moxibustion can be used; wash with a decoction of Huai Tiao (Mulberry twig) and Cong Bai (Scallion white), then apply Yan Song (Ophiopogon) powder.
Flesh protruding like rice grains:
Ma Chi Xian (Purslane) burned until charred, ground into powder, and applied with Zhu You (Pig fat).
Take one large Fei Zao (Soap nut/Fake soap), remove the core and edges, mix with San qian of Fu Ren Bi Xia Fa Gou (Hair垢 from women's combing), and three cun of Sheng Shan Yao (Fresh Dioscorea opposita), pound into a thick paste and apply. Alternatively, pound Shan Yao (Dioscorea) and Lv Dou Fen (Mung bean powder) evenly, mix with vinegar, and apply. Or apply Tang Ji Shi (Thin chicken droppings) (male chickens are best) several times; this is most effective at defeating toxins. Adding Li Zhi He Mo (Lychee seed powder) is ideal.
Gui Jia (Tortoise shell) ground into powder and sprinkled (permanently avoid eating turtle meat). Bie Jia (Softshell turtle shell) is also excellent (can close wounds and generate flesh).
Bai Fan (Alum) one liang, mixed with cool water and administered orally.
Additionally, Chi Xiao Dou (Adzuki Bean) powder mixed with honey can be applied topically.
This condition occurs only in porters:
Wu Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis) burned to retain its properties, ground into fine powder, added with Huang Dan (Lead tetroxide processed by water flotation), mixed with vinegar, and applied topically.
