治上盛下虚，心火炎上，口苦咽干，烦渴微热，小便赤涩，或欲成淋。

上作一服，水二盅，煎至一盅，食前服。如发热加柴胡薄荷各一钱。
治肾气不足，膀胱有热，水道不通，淋沥不出，脐腹急痛，蓄作有时，劳倦即
如豆汁，或出砂石，并皆治之。

治膀胱有热，水道不通，淋沥不止，脐腹急痛，或尿如豆汁，或如砂石，膏淋

Treats heat accumulation in the Heart meridian (Heart Meridian), causing internal organ blockage and constipation, red and scanty urine with dysuria, strangury (difficulty or inability to urinate) with obstruction, as well as heat strangury (Heat Strangury) and blood strangury (Blood Strangury); all are treated.

Treats excess in the upper jiao (Upper Burner) and deficiency in the lower jiao, with Heart fire blazing upward, manifesting as bitter taste in the mouth, dry throat, irritability, thirst, slight fever, red and scanty urine, or impending strangury.
Lotus Plumule (Shi Lian Rou, removed from heart) *Nelumbinis Plumula* (Shi Lian Zi, removed from heart); White Poria (Bai Fu Ling, peeled) *Poria* (Fu Ling); Ginseng Root (Ren Shen, removed from rhizome) *Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma* (Ren Shen); Astragalus Root (Huang Qi, honey-fried) *Astragali Radix* (Huang Qi); Scutellaria Root (Huang Qin) *Scutellariae Radix* (Huang Qin) [each half qian]. Combine the above as one dose, add two cups of water, decoct to one cup, take before meals. If fever is present, add Bupleurum Root (Chai Hu) and Mint (Bo He), each one qian.
Treats latent summerheat and accumulated heat, causing red and scanty urine resembling strangury.

Treats insufficiency of Kidney Qi (Kidney Qi), with heat in the Bladder (Bladder), leading to obstructed urinary pathways, dribbling and incomplete emptying, urgent pain in the umbilical and abdominal regions, periodic exacerbations, worsening upon fatigue; urine resembling bean dregs, or passage of gravel/stones; all are treated.

Combine the above as one dose, add two cups of water, decoct to one cup, take before meals. If prepared as powder, take two qian per dose, mixed with wheat decoction.
Treats deficiency of the Heart with accumulated heat, red and strangury-like urine, or painful strangury.
Rehmannia Root (Sheng Di Huang, four qian) *Rehmanniae Radix* (Sheng Di Huang); Akebia Stem (Mu Tong, three qian) *Akebiae Caulis* (Mu Tong); Licorice Root (Gan Cao, two qian) *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gan Cao).
Combine the above as one dose, add two cups of water and ten leaves of Bamboo Leaf (Zhu Ye), decoct to one cup, take at any time.
Treats post-illness body weakness combined with external heat contraction, where heat binds in the lower jiao, resulting in strangury disease, red and scanty urine, frequent urgency with small output, and stinging pain in the penis; all are treated.

Combine the above as one dose, add two cups of water and three slices of Ginger (Sheng Jiang), decoct to one cup, take at any time.
Treats heat in the Bladder, obstructed urinary pathways, continuous dribbling, urgent pain in the umbilical and abdominal regions, urine resembling bean dregs or gravel/stones, and milky strangury (Milky Strangury); all are treated.
