A patient suffered from head wind (Toufeng, a type of headache) and aversion to cold, with the head wrapped in thick cotton for thirty years without cure. Two sheng of buckwheat flour were mixed with water to make two cakes, which were alternately applied to the head. The condition was cured upon slight sweating. (From *Li Lou Guai Zheng Qi Fang*) (Note: This prescription is based on the experience of Xian Zhuangxi curing his clan ancestor.)
For wounds resembling needle holes, three sheng of fermented soybeans (Dan Dou Chi, 淡豆豉) were boiled, and one sheng was taken orally, three times a day. (From *Ge Shi Fang*)
Additionally, for bleeding resembling chopstick holes, one bean of Croton seed (Badou, 巴豆), mixed with tangled hair and burnt egg, was ground into powder and taken with wine. (From *Sheng Hui Fang*)
For wounds exceeding one cun in length, half fen of Borneol (Meihua Pian Nao, 梅花片脑) was ground into powder and sprinkled on the wound, resulting in immediate cure.
Ricin oil-soaked paper was ignited, and the smoke was used to fumigate the wound, causing the protruding intestine to retract. (From *Ji Yan Mi Fang*)
When fluids cannot enter the mouth, indicating a critical stage of Taiyin disease (Taiyin Bing, 太阴病), two liang of Xuanjing Stone (Xuanjing Shi, 玄精石), along with one fen each of Realgar Cinnabar (Zhusha, 朱砂), Calculus Bovis (Niuhuang, 牛黄), and Borneol (Longnao, 龙脑), were ground into powder. Blood on the tongue was scraped off with an iron needle, the mouth was rinsed with salt water, and the powder was administered to be swallowed with saliva, yielding miraculous effects. (From *Sheng Hui Fang*)
Throat obstruction leading to sudden cessation of breath is a critical condition. An unspecified amount of Alum (Zaofan, 皂矾) was calcined on a new tile until it turned red, then cooled on the ground and ground fine. The patient's jaw was pried open with iron tongs, and the medicine was applied to the tongue, restoring life.
One bunch of Thistle (Daji, 大蓟) was juiced and mixed with half qian of good wine, taken in one dose. If fresh thistle is unavailable, dried thistle powder, three qian, can be taken.
In cases of Jue Ni (Jue Ni, 厥逆 - cold extremities due to yang deficiency), cyanotic lips, retracted testicles, and faint or imperceptible six pulses, a bundle of green onion was prepared by removing roots and green parts, keeping only the white part (about two cun). It was heated and placed on the umbilicus, then moxibustion/ironing was performed with a hot iron. When the onion deteriorated, it was replaced. After some time, when warmth penetrated, hands and feet became warm, and sweating occurred, the condition improved. Subsequently, Sini Tang (Sini Tang, 四逆汤 - Decoction for Reversing Yin/Cold Extremities) was administered. If hands and feet remained cold after ironing, the condition was considered incurable. (From Zhu Gong's *Nanyang Huoren Fang*)
Twenty Gardenia fruits (Zhizi, 栀子) were lightly stir-fried, peeled, decocted in water, and taken orally. (From *Li Lou Guai Zheng Qi Fang*)
If the patient's teeth lack color, the tongue is white, the patient prefers sleep, feels lethargic without awareness of pain or itchiness, or suffers from dysentery, it indicates parasites in the lower body eating the anus. Fifteen Peach kernels (Taoren, 桃仁) were boiled with two sheng of vinegar and one he of salt until reduced to six ge, then taken to cure the condition. (From *Zhou Hou Fang*)
Immediately apply oil and insert it; irrigate with decoction of Ginseng (Renshen, 人参) and Goji berry (Gouqi, 枸杞). Internally consume sheep kidney porridge; recovery occurs within ten days. (From *Wei Shi De Xiao Fang*)
