The female life mechanism primarily involves three aspects, and the purple, white, and yellow luminous energies differ from those of males.
In youth (pre-puberty), the Qi mechanism is located above; in decline (post-menopause), it is located in the middle; and in achieving the Daoist body (successful cultivation), it is located below. This critical juncture must be deeply understood.
The female life mechanisms are three: purple, white, and yellow. The yellow light is where the Dantian generates the Elixir. The white light is where the Taiyuan (Fetal Origin) condenses to form the fetus. The purple light is where the Blood Sea generates blood. Located in the upper part is the Yang Acupoint; in the middle is the Yellow Chamber; and in the lower part is the Dantian.
When a woman is young, Tian Gui (substances promoting reproductive maturity) reaches the quantity of one Jin. The true Yuan Qi of the Dantian is sufficient, and the ascending Blood Yuan generates blood. Extreme Yang transforms into Yin, transforming turbid menstruation into menstrual blood that flows externally. Thus, in youth, the Qi operates from above.
When she declines, Tian Gui is exhausted, and Qi cannot ascend to generate blood. With dryness in the waist and depletion of blood, menstruation ceases. Thus, in decline, the Qi operates from the middle. If one wishes to cultivate the "Dry Body" state (cessation of menstruation for cultivation), one must transport Qi from the Lower Dantian up to the Upper Yang Acupoint. Using Shen Fire (spiritual fire) to fumigate, the menstrual blood turns yellow, then white, then vanishes into nothingness, and the physical form naturally conceals itself. Therefore, achievement begins from below, which differs from men. Failing to recognize this critical juncture means the Elixir cannot be formed.
The Qi Acupoint is none other than the breasts; do not rashly speculate about positions below the navel.
If one does not know the place where Yin is generated, how can one make the Poison Dragon (referring to menstruation) lie dormant?
The Qi Acupoint is also called the Blood Yuan, which is the breast area, located at the center, one inch and three fen deep, not referring to the entire bilateral breasts. In men, the Mingmen (Gate of Life) is in the Dantian, so the Lower Dantian is considered the Qi Acupoint. In women, the Mingmen is in the breasts, so the breasts are considered the Qi Acupoint. Extreme Yang transforms into Yin, generating Yin blood from the Qi Acupoint which flows externally. Therefore, to sever the Red Dragon (stop menstruation), effort must be applied at the place where Yin is generated. Through long-term practice, the physical form will naturally conceal itself. Mistaking the male Qi Acupoint (one inch and three fen below the navel) for the female Qi Acupoint is an error.
Whenever flowers bloom facing the moon, the ram desires to touch the fence.
I advise you to act upon the arrival of the signal without delay, lest you wait until the Red Dragon flows out like water from the shore.
*Qiantian Xuanwei* states: Before a woman is born, during the conjunction of parents' essence and blood, the father's essence arrives first, followed by the mother's blood. The blood wraps the essence to form the female shape. Upon conception, the woman first receives one Liang of Lead Qi from the mother, which first generates the right Kidney. One thread extends upward to form the eyes; another thread extends downward to form the Golden Elixir. From then on, one Zhu of Gui Water is generated every twelve days, and one Liang every 180 days. Thereafter, one Zhu is generated every fifteen days, and one Liang per year. By age fourteen (two sevens), fourteen Liang of Gui Water are generated in the Blood Sea. Combined with the one Liang brought from the womb, this totals one Jin, or 384 Zhu. This corresponds to the 384 degrees of the Heavenly Circuit, 384 days of the year, and 384 lines of the I Ching hexagrams. In the numbers of Heaven and Earth, extreme Yin yields to Yang; when Gui is exhausted, Lead appears. At age fourteen (two sevens), Tian Gui descends. After the descent of Tian Gui at fourteen, over two years, six months, seven days, and half a day, one Liang of Gui Water is consumed. By age forty-nine, it is completely exhausted.
After age fourteen, menstruation occurs once a month, continuously operating, synchronized with the lunar cycle of new moon and full moon, without timing errors. A slight deviation in time leads to illness. Hence, monthly as flowers bloom, menstruation flows regularly. The reason for this flow is the transformation of Yang into Yin. Once Yang has transformed into Yin blood, it should not be arbitrarily circulated. Arbitrary circulation causes harm. Effort must be made before the ram touches the fence (before menstruation arrives). *Shangyao Jingjing Sanming Pian* states: "Menstrual trust (Xin) is not defined merely by the arrival of menstrual blood. The character 'Xin' (trust/message) implies that just as a person outside sends news before returning home, the signal arrives first." On the day the signal arrives, the body knows it intuitively: perhaps waist and leg pain, discomfort in the head and eyes, or loss of appetite. This is the formation of blood due to the arrival of Qi. One should focus on practice two and a half days prior. If menstruation has already started, the Red Dragon's Yin essence cannot be controlled, and arbitrary circulation causes harm. One must wait until two and a half days after menstruation ends. Test with white silk; if the color is golden yellow, the menstruation has ceased. Then, apply the previous methods to transport it upward and sever it. These words precisely instruct people to know the proper timing for practice.
