It is said that there are three gates in the birth canal. One is called Baomen (Uterine Gate), one is called Longmen (Dragon Gate), and one is called Yumen (Jade Gate). The Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) and Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) run through them. For those who have given birth, it belongs to Baomen; for those who have not given birth, it belongs to Longmen; for those who have not married, it belongs to Yumen. *Bingyuan* (Source of Diseases) states: Excessive sexual activity damages the meridians and collaterals due to labor and strain, allowing Wind-Cold pathogens to enter Baomen vacuously. This damages the meridians of the Chong and Ren vessels and injures the Qi of the Taiyang (Greater Yang) and Shaoyin (Lesser Yin) channels. Consequently, between the uterine collaterals, turbid fluids mix with blood and discharge together as leukorrhea. If cold predominates, white discharge is abundant; if heat predominates, red discharge is abundant. Over time, this becomes a disease of dripping or continuous discharge.
Da Buyi Danggui Wan (Great Tonifying Angelica Pill). Treats various deficiencies and insufficiencies in women.
Herbs include: Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Xuduan (Dipsaci Radix), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (each 1 liang); Wuzhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Guangui (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata) (each 1.5 liang).
Grind the above herbs into fine powder, make pills using wheat paste, sized like paulownia seeds. Take 50 pills per dose before meals, with warm wine or salted water.

It is said that when male and female unite, their emotions blend harmoniously. If Yin Blood arrives first and Yang Essence follows, the Blood opens to wrap the Essence. When the Essence enters, it forms bone, and the male form is established. If Yang Essence enters first and Yin Blood seeps in later, the Essence opens to wrap the Blood. When the Blood enters and resides in the root, the female form is established. Yang Qi gathers on the face, so men have heavier faces; those who drown by drowning must lie prone. Yin Qi gathers on the back, so women have heavier backs; those who drown by drowning must lie supine. This applies similarly to birds and beasts drowning. If Yin and Yang arrive simultaneously, resulting in a body that is neither male nor female, this is an omen of twins or multiple fetuses. If the father is young and the mother old, the daughter born will be frail. If the mother is strong and the father weak, the son born will be weak. Ancient virtuous scholars observe these factors first. For illnesses caused by biased Qi, tonification is applied. To tonify frail women, nourish Blood and strengthen Spleen; to tonify weak men, strengthen Spleen and regulate sexual activity. Frail women should marry in due time; weak men should wait until they are robust before marrying. This is the fundamental principle for managing such external conditions and cannot be overlooked.

It is said that medical classics record: After one month of missed menstruation, if the woman feels no flow, her pulse is smooth and harmonious, she has no other diseases, this indicates impending pregnancy. *Maijing* (Pulse Classic) records: A woman came for diagnosis, stating her menstruation had stopped. The physician said: One month of cessation is Embryo (Pei), two months is Initial Paste (Shigao), three months is Regular Menstruation (Jujing). Now that it has reached Jujing, it is precisely the time of conception.
