Formula for treating abdominal pain and miscarriage in women caused by ingesting herbal medicines. (From *Nan Liude Buyi*.)
*Lablab Semen Album* (raw)
Remove the skin, grind into a fine powder, and take one *cunbi* (a square-inch measure) mixed with rice water. If processing is not available, decocting it strongly for consumption is also acceptable. It also detoxifies arsenic poisoning accidentally ingested by men or women;
It also treats leukorrhea (red and white discharge) in women. The herb should be stir-fried until yellow, ground into powder, and taken with rice water.
Formula for treating fetal restlessness, lower back pain, abdominal fullness, vaginal bleeding, fetal Qi rushing to the heart, shortness of breath, and weakness during pregnancy, regardless of gestational age, whether due to falls/blows or ingestion of toxic substances.
*Radix Rehmanniae Preparata* (2 liang), *Radix Paeoniae Alba*, Folium Artemisiae Argyi, *Radix Angelicae Sinensis*, Radix Glycyrrhizae, Cortex Colla Corii Asini, Radix Scutellariae (1 liang each. Another version includes *Radix Chuanxiong*).
Chop the above ingredients. Take 0.5 liang per dose. Add one large cup of water, three slices of ginger, and one jujube. Decoct until the volume reduces to 70%, remove the dregs, and take warm at any time.
The so-called "heart pain" during pregnancy is mostly caused by wind-pathogen and phlegm-fluid invading the meridians and collaterals of the Heart. When pathogenic factors contend with healthy Qi, they knot together causing pain. If the pain affects the main meridian of the Heart, it is called "True Heart Pain." The Heart is the official of the sovereign, commanding all viscera, and cannot be invaded by pathogens. If invaded, death occurs within half a day (morning onset leads to evening death; evening onset leads to morning death). If the pain affects the branch collaterals of the Heart, the pain fluctuates between relief and exacerbation, occurring at regular intervals. In pregnant women, persistent pain may cause Qi to invade the Bao-Luo (uterine network), damaging the Zi-Zang (uterus), leading to fetal movement. Any shift in the fetus causes instability; if this instability disturbs the blood, vaginal bleeding occurs.
