Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui), Radix Saposhnikoviae (Chuanxiong), Radix Paeoniae Alba (Shaoyao), Cortex Cinnamomi (Guixin), Cortex Moutan (Mudanpi), Rhizoma Curcumae Zedoariae (Ezhu) (each 0.5 liang); Radix Ginseng (Renshen), Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Gancao), Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae (Niuxi) (each 1 liang).
The above herbs are cut into pieces. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct until 0.8 zhan remains, remove the dregs, and take warm.
Ramulus Cinnamomi (Guizhi), Radix Paeoniae Alba (Shaoyao), Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (Shengdihuang) (each 2 liang); Semen Persicae (Taoren) (processed, 50 seeds); Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Gancao) (1 liang).
The above herbs are crushed into coarse powder. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 2 zhan of water, 3 slices of Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Jiang), and 1 Fructus Jujubae (Zao), decoct until 1 zhan remains, remove the dregs, and take warm.
If menstruation suddenly stops, with pain in the umbilical and abdominal regions, radiating upwards to the heart and hypochondrium causing unbearable suffering. Or due to menstrual obstruction, masses gradually form, feeling like an inverted cup below the navel, which over time becomes a "rou zha" (fleshy mass), becoming incurable. This is caused by fright, worry, and indecision, leading to Qi stagnation and depression, which then affects the Blood. Blood follows Qi; when Qi stagnates, Blood coagulates. Since Qi acts as the commander and leads first, while Blood follows behind, it is appropriate to take Guizhi Tao Ren Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Peach Kernel Decoction). If symptoms do not improve, Di Huang Tong Jing Wan (Rehmannia Menstruation-Unblocking Pill) is appropriate. For those who have already formed masses, Wan Bing Wan (Ten Thousand Diseases Pill) is appropriate. (Formula seen previously)
Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (Shudihuang) (3 liang); Blatta orientalis (Mengchong) (remove head, feet, wings, stir-fry); Hirudo (Shuizhi) (stir-fry together with glutinous rice until yellow, remove rice); Semen Persicae (Taoren) (processed, each 50 seeds).
The above herbs are ground into fine powder. Make pills the size of paulownia seeds using refined honey. Take 5 pills on an empty stomach with warm wine. If ineffective, increase to 7 pills.
Treats women's menstrual stasis, where every episode causes unbearable pain in the heart, abdomen, and umbilicus. Also treats postpartum lochia retention, where blood rushes to the heart, causing coma, unconsciousness, and fainting resembling death. (From *Ben Shi Fang*)
Rhizoma Sparganii (Sanleng), Rhizoma Curcumae Zedoariae (Ezhu), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishaoyao), Cortex Moutan (Mudanpi), Herba Siegesbeckiae (Liujinu), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui), Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (Shudihuang), Cortex Cinnamomi (Guixin), Flos Chrysanthemi Indici (Ganju), Spora Typhae (Zhen Puhuang) (stir-fried, each 1 liang, finely chopped).
Take the first five herbs, boil together with 1 sheng of black soybeans, half a jin of sliced fresh ginger, and 4 sheng of rice vinegar until the beans are soft. Dry them, add the remaining five herbs, grind together into fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose. On an empty stomach, before meals, mix with warm wine.
Another prescription: Do not use Chrysanthemum or Typha pollen; instead, using Rhizoma Linderae (Wuyao) and Rhizoma Corydalis Yanhusuo (Yanhusuo) is also good. This is my family's secret formula.
For ordinary Qi and Blood pain, one dose suffices. For postpartum blood rushing to the heart, two doses will bring relief; long-term use is even better. It has saved many lives in urgent situations. This medicine is easy to prepare; it is advisable to prepare more to help others. One sheng of black soybeans weighs approximately 5 liang.
Another prescription: Rhizoma Corydalis Yanhusuo (Yanhusuo), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui) (equal parts).
The above two herbs are crushed into coarse powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Add 3 slices of ginger and one large zhan of water, decoct until 0.7 zhan remains, remove dregs, and take slightly warm.
Chen's formula includes Cinnamon Twig, named Rushen Tang (Miraculous God Decoction), most effective for treating lower back pain.
*Lei Gong Pao Zhi Lun* mentions only Corydalis Rhizome for treating heart pain.
I have carefully examined this formula; it is highly effective for treating Qi and Blood-related waist and abdominal pain. The prescription is simple yet potent, and effective in curing diseases.
