Doctor Zhang from Liangzhe suffered from wheezing for twenty years. The condition worsened every autumn and winter, making sitting and lying impossible. Various treatments failed. I once treated Lady Luo, nearly sixty years old. During the transition between autumn and winter, she experienced upper body wheezing and urgency, unable to sit or lie down. Her six pulses were surging and solid. Various medicines were ineffective. Upon asking about the origin of the disease, she revealed that in her youth, while serving in Sichuan, she had ingested Cinnabar (Dansha), and feared damage from cinnabar toxicity. She then took Xi Xin San, but it was ineffective. I used Hua Gai San for a few doses, and she recovered. I record this casually.
