Translation:
It is discussed that infants from birth to one year of age should not experience spontaneous sweating. If spontaneous sweating occurs, it leads to the depletion of Yang Qi (vital energy), physical weakness, a deficient pulse, scattered spirit, and predisposition to convulsions (Jing Feng). If sweating occurs during breastfeeding due to movement, it must not be forcibly stopped. It is appropriate to use Baizhu San (Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder) consisting of Er Qian Ban (two qian and half) of Baizhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) and Yi Cuo (a pinch) of Xiaomai (Tritici Fructus), boiled until dry, removing the wheat, grinding into powder, and administering with Huangqi Tang (Astragalus Decoction) for adjustment, continuing until recovery. For spontaneous sweating caused by cold damage heat syndrome, Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) added with Longdan (Gentianae Radix) should be used. In summer, when spontaneous sweating is frequent, Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is indicated as the primary treatment. For cases with excessive heat, spontaneous sweating, and wheezing, Gegen Huangqin Huanglian Tang (Kudzu, Scutellaria, and Coptis Decoction) is indicated.
Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) see Question 29.
Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) see Question 58.
Gegen Huangqin Huanglian Tang (Kudzu, Scutellaria, and Coptis Decoction) see Question 56.
It is discussed that in pediatric thirst syndrome, once the lips appear red like cinnabar for about three to five fen in width, thirst begins for about three to five fen; if the redness is more intense, the thirst is more severe; if the lips are red, scorched, and black, it indicates prolonged thirst leading to extreme deficiency and excess, where the disease transmits rapidly to its extremity, making the condition critical. For children suffering from deficiency-heat irritability in the San Jiao (Triple Burner) causing thirst with unquenchable drinking desire, Sanhuang Wan (Three Yellows Pill) is appropriate. For children developing thirst after cold damage, with scorched and dry lips and mouth, and severe irritability, Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is indicated, and Zhuye Tang (Bamboo Leaf Decoction) may also be taken. For thirst caused by diarrhea and dysentery in children, Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria) with Gui Zhi (Cinnamon Twig) removed and Gegen (Puerariae Radix) added is particularly effective; Xiangru Yin (Elsholtzia Drink), Cheqianzi San (Plantago Seed Powder) can be taken; Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) added with Tianhuafen (Trichosanthis Radix) is also good, and adding Gegen (Puerariae Radix) is even more stable. For cases of high fever, irritability, and thirst, Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Decoction for Resolving Toxins) can be taken, and Qi Wu Huanglian Tang (Seven-Ingredient Coptis Decoction) can also be taken, which is very stable. Generally, children's constitutions are naturally robust and prone to generating internal heat; the steaming of heat causes thirst and the desire to drink.

Qi Wu Huanglian Tang (Seven-Ingredient Coptis Decoction) treats summer cold damage, characterized by painful limbs, fever, irritability, nausea, vomiting, chest and hypochondriac fullness, severe symptoms resembling possession, and alternating chills and fever, leading to irritability.
Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) (each 7.5 qian), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) (each 1 liang), Xiaomai (Tritici Fructus) (3 he).
The above ingredients are crushed into a coarse powder, decocted in clear water. To stop diarrhea, add Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus) 0.5 liang.
