Pill preparations. Concurrently use Yigong San (a formula to warm the middle and support healthy qi, treating deficiency-type vomiting and diarrhea; see the "Vomiting and Diarrhea" section), Qianghuo Gao, Wenbai Wan, Gouteng Yinzi, etc. (Formulas are detailed in the preceding text). Treat according to these methods, and immediately administer rice gruel. Even in critical conditions, survival is often achieved from near-death situations, with a success rate of seven or eight out of ten. I obtained a prescription from Marshal Yue, purportedly transmitted from Transport Commissioner Wang, for treating pediatric acute and chronic convulsive diseases (Ji Man Jing Feng) and persistent vomiting and diarrhea in critical, untreatable states. It is named Anwei Wan. This formula is similar to the aforementioned ones, largely identical but with minor differences.
Ingredients: High-quality Qingzhou Baiwanzi (30 pills), High-quality Jin Ye Dan (30 pills), Quanxie (Scorpio, 1 piece, remove spines), Shexiang (Musk, a small amount).
Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Mix with glutinous rice paste to form pills the size of millet seeds. Administer 30-20 pills per dose, taken with decoction of radish and glutinous rice, at any time.
Shexiang Niuhuang Wan
Treats pediatric acute and chronic convulsive diseases (Ji Man Jing Feng) and slow spleen wind (Man Pi Feng).
Ingredients: Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, 1 qian), Shexiang (Musk, 1 qian, ground), Xeshao (Tail end of Scorpio, 1 qian, raw), Ruxiang (Olibanum, 1 qian, ground), Moyao (Myrrha, 1 qian, ground), Wugong (Scolopendra, 1 strip, fried in butter), Huashe Rou (Meat of Elaphe carinata, 1 qian, bone removed, soaked in wine overnight), Tiannanxing (Rhizoma Arisaematis, 2.5 qian, processed), Caowu (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii, 2.5 qian, processed, skin removed), Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae, 2.5 qian, crushed and ground), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae, 2.5 qian, remove seedlings and forked branches), Xionghuang (Realgar, 0.5 qian, ground, water-floated), Zhusha (Cinnabar, 8 qian, ground).
Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Use wine paste as a binder to form pills the size of soap seeds. For children aged 1-3 years, administer 1 pill per dose, ground finely and mixed with decoction of金银花 (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae) and Bohe (Herba Menthae); for children aged 7-10 years, administer 2-3 pills per dose, mixed with decoction of Renshen (Radix Ginseng); for chronic convulsive disease, grind 3 pills finely and force-feed, yielding great efficacy. Administer at any time.
Shexiang Bingzi
Treats post-vomiting and diarrhea pediatric cases where spleen deficiency generates wind, manifesting as strabismus, spinal rigidity, and limb spasms. Also treats stroke of heart and lungs causing coma and unconsciousness. (This formula is similar to the previous one but slightly different).
Ingredients: Chuanwu (Radix Aconiti Carmerichanensis, 1 fen, processed, skin and umbilicus removed), Tiannanxing (Rhizoma Arisaematis, 1 fen, processed), Baihuashe (Meat of Elaphe carinata, 1 fen, soaked in wine overnight, skin and bones removed, dried), Xeshao (Tail end of Scorpio, 1 fen), Wugong (Scolopendra, 1 strip, head and feet removed, pre-ground to fine powder), Zhusha (Cinnabar, 0.5 fen, ground, water-floated), Shexiang (Musk, 1 fen), Ruxiang (Olibanum, 0.5 fen, ground), Tiefen (Ferrum Oxydatum Rubrum, 0.5 fen, ground), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, 0.5 fen, ground).
Grind all ingredients into fine powder and mix uniformly. Use wine paste to form pills the size of cocklebur, shaped into cakes. Administer 1-2 cakes per dose, dissolved in decoction of Renshen (Radix Ginseng) and Bohe (Herba Menthae).
Shengpi San
Treats slow spleen wind (Man Pi Feng).
Ingredients: Xiangfu (Rhizoma Cyperi Rotundi, 1 he, stir-fried, skin and hairs removed), Xiaoheidou (Black Soybean, 1 he, stir-fried), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 0.5 fen).
Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Administer 0.5 qian per dose, mixed with rice drink or water, at any time.
General Treatment for Acute and Chronic Convulsive Diseases
For pediatric acute or chronic convulsive diseases where voice is lost, condition is critical, and life is in imminent danger: For males, use the left hand; for females, use the right hand. Bend the middle finger and moxa the center of the horizontal crease on the palm, simultaneously moxa the nipple. Moxa cone size like wheat grain. Severe cases: no more than 3 moxa cones. Stop when voice returns. This moxibustion method was transmitted by Transport Commissioner Wang and is miraculous.

Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of cocklebur. Administer 1 pill per dose, dissolved in decoction of Bohe (Herba Menthae). Severe cases: 2 pills. For diarrhea, take with decoction of Dongguazi (Semen Benincasae); for vomiting, dissolve in decoction of Dingxiang (Flos Caryophylli). Do not restrict time. Adjust dosage based on age and severity to avoid error.
Niuhuang Wan
Treats acute and chronic convulsive diseases with continuous episodes.

Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Use paste to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Administer half a pill per dose, taken with mint water. To induce mild purgation, administer 1 pill. Physician Wang Jian of Chuzhou became wealthy due to this medicine and guarded it closely, never transmitting it. I obtained it and found it slightly different from Shuijing Wan. It is extremely effective for convulsions; a dying patient recovers immediately after one dose. Administer at any time.
Qingjin Dan
Treatment as above.
Ingredients: Xionghuang Mo (Realgar powder, 1 qian), Zhusha Mo (Cinnabar powder, 1 qian), Tiefen (Ferrum Oxydatum Rubrum, 2 qian), Ruxiang Mo (Olibanum powder, 1 qian), Nanxing Mo (Rhizoma Arisaematis powder, 2 qian), Xie (Scorpio, lightly stir-fried, 2 qian), Qingfen (Calomel), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, 3 qian each), Shexiang (Musk, 1 zi measure), Huatoshe (Elaphe carinata, 1 strip, soaked in wine overnight, meat taken and dried).

Xiongzhu Dan

Take 1 white vinegar cake (Baixiangqu), place among the medicine to let it absorb moisture, scrape off with a bamboo comb, and form pills the size of mustard seeds. Administer 3 pills per dose, taken with decoction of金银花 (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae) and Bohe (Herba Menthae). The remaining cake must be dried and kept from spoiling. Administer at any time.
Ruanjin Dan (Also known as Shengli Dan)
Treats pediatric acute and chronic convulsive diseases, three types of epilepsy with spasms, head and neck trembling, upward gaze, lateral pulling convulsions, spinal rigidity, opisthotonos (body arched like a bow), trismus, fingers flexing as if counting, continuous low-grade fever, internal wind generated by excessive cooling medicines, convulsions and thirst transformed from cold damage, or wind and epilepsy caused by vomiting and diarrhea. All these symptoms, loss of appetite, coma and unconsciousness. For all such emergencies, this medicine cures, provided there is no rapid breathing. If rapid breathing exists, carefully distinguish deficiency and excess. For phlegm-excess, take with Shuiyin Wan (Mercury Pill) to guide and resolve convulsive phlegm, stopping tidal spasms immediately. For deficiency, simply take this medicine, and eyes will lower. For minor phlegm-wind or wind-heat with various convulsive signs, recovery occurs without change. Also treats sudden stroke in adults with phlegm flooding and unconsciousness. This divine medicine saves lives and cannot be fully recorded.
Ingredients: Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, separately ground), Dansha (Cinnabar, ground, water-floated), Xionghuang (Realgar, ground, water-floated), Shengxi (Fresh Rhinoceros Horn, finely crushed), Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae), Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, silk mouth removed), Banxia (Rhizoma Pinelliae, washed 7 times in hot water to make paste), Chanqiao (Periostracum Cicadae, soil removed, washed in hot water and dried), Nanmuxiang (Radix Aucklandiae), Shijunzi (Fructus Quisqualis, meat taken, 1 fen each), Roudoukou (Nucis Arecae Catjang, wrapped in flour, roasted), Xiangmo (Ink stick, 1.5 fen each), Tiannanxing (Rhizoma Arisaematis, cracked by processing), Baifuzi (Rhizoma Typhonii, cracked by processing, 1 qian each), Ninfen (Calomel, 1 qian), Shuiyin (Mercury, 3.5 qian, combined with 3.5 qian Black Lead to total 7 qian, formed into sand-like particles, use half liang), Baihuashe (Elaphe carinata), Wushe (Dinodon rufozonatum, take 1 liang of thick neck meat from each snake, soak in wine overnight, remove skin and bones, dry without fire), Luqing (Azurite, 1.2 qian), Shexiang (Musk, 1 qian, ground), Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, 0.5 qian, ground), Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, 1 piece, cracked, skin and umbilicus removed, for deficiency), Wugong (Scolopendra, 2 medium strips, raw, red legs preferred), Quanxie (Scorpio, 30 pieces), Tianjiangchong (Larva Vespae, 25 pieces, shell removed), Da Binglang (Areca Seed, 2 pieces), Dingxiang (Flos Caryophylli, 1.5 qian), Chansu (Toad Venom, size of 3 soap seeds), Jinbo (Gold Leaf), Yinbo (Silver Leaf, 15 pieces each).

Take 1 unthorned Gleditsia sinensis pod, scrape off skin and strings, soak in 0.5 jin of good wine overnight, knead to extract juice, filter residue. Add 3 qian of petroleum ether (Shinao Oil), boil in a silver vessel over high heat for over ten boils, then cool. Prepare a small amount of refined honey, add to the mixture to blend well. Form large pills the size of dates, small pills the size of soap seeds. Coat with gold and silver leaves. Administer 1 pill per dose, dissolved in decoction of金银花 (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae) and Bohe (Herba Menthae). For phlegm-excess, dissolve with Shuiyin Wan (Mercury Pill). Duoming Daqing Jin Dan
Treats various pediatric convulsions. This formula originated from the Li family in Xiwa Nei, Tokyo.
Ingredients: Tiantanzhu Huang (Calculus Budae, 1 jin, powdered), Mo (Ink stick, 2 sticks, size irrelevant, do not use all), Shexiang (Musk, 1 qian, ground), Zhusha (Cinnabar, 1 qian, ground, water-floated), Shuiyin (Mercury, half liang), Xi (Tin, half liang).
Melt tin first in a crucible, add mercury to form sand-like particles, grind open in a mortar. Then add other powdered medicines and grind uniformly. Form pills the size of elastic balls using thick ink water. Spread medicine on paper placed over ash in a basin to dry. For 10-year-olds: 1 pill, divided into 3-4 doses. For 7-8 year-olds: 4 doses. For 5-6 year-olds: 6 doses. For 3-4 year-olds: 10 doses. For 1-2 year-olds: 16 doses. For newborns within 100 days: 30 doses. Causes mild purgation. For regular use, take every 10 days. For pediatric wind-heat epilepsy with tidal spasms, abundant phlegm, cough, and wheezing, adjust temporarily. Safe for post-vomiting/diarrhea wind generation.
