If the viscera are affected by convulsion or gan syndrome, presenting with constipation or diarrhea, administer with clear rice drink or warm water: 5-7 small pills, up to 10 pills. For gan-related eye disorders, administer with pork liver soup; for gan-related thirst, pork soup is also acceptable. For convulsive attacks with upward rolling of eyes, dissolve one pill in mint soup for oral administration, and grind another pill with water to drip into the nose. For gingival sores or mouth ulcers, apply the powdered medicine externally. For abdominal pain due to parasites, administer with Toosendan fruit soup or Bai Wuyi soup. For infants within 100 days, if bowel and bladder movements are unobstructed, grind the medicine with water and apply to the umbilicus. If parasitic signs are present, add a small amount of Ganxi (Drynariae Rhizoma) and high-quality Shexiang (Moschus), along with 1-2 drops of raw sesame oil, dissolved in warm water. Generally, crush the medicine for acute conditions, or soak/dissolve for chronic conditions. Do not use for infants who are extremely deficient or suffering from slow convulsion. This formula is particularly effective for treating acute convulsion and phlegm-heat syndromes.
Xuehai Case: The "Juzhen Ben" edition separates "Naobing" and "Shexiang" into two separate ingredients, omitting Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), Qingfen (Calomelas), Lvhui (Aloe), and Xiongdan (Ursi Fel).
