The *Yangsheng Fang* (Prescriptions for Nourishing Life) states: Usually, at the beginning of combing one's hair (specifically on one's birth sign day), strike the teeth nine times. Internally recite the mantra: "Tai Di scatters the spirits, Wu Lao returns to truth, Niwan Xuanhua preserves essence and ensures long life. Turning left binds the moon, pulling right draws the root of the sun; the Six Harmonies are purified, and the causes of all diseases are healed." Then swallow saliva three times. Consistently practicing this will prevent toothache, keep hair firm and free from graying, and prevent headache.
It further states: Sit facing east, hold your breath four times, and grind the teeth fourteen times (two sevens). This treats toothache disease. Open the mouth wide and grind the teeth fourteen times, then hold your breath four times. Between these actions, regulate the breath with intention. The illness will heal, pain will cease, and the teeth will become fresh, white, and tight without loosening. Long-term practice can make the teeth as hard as diamond.
It also states: Sit facing east, hold your breath four times, and rub the upper and lower teeth against each other thirty-six times. This treats toothache.
The *Yangsheng Fang* states: Mercury must not come near the teeth; otherwise, it causes swelling and leads to loose teeth falling out.
The *Yangsheng Fang* states: At the time of the rooster's crow, frequently strike the teeth thirty-six times. Persistent practice prevents dental caries caused by worms and makes the teeth firm.
It further states: Before rising in the morning, rinse the mouth early. When the mouth is full of saliva, swallow it, then grind the teeth more than fourteen times. This makes a person vigorous and good-looking, removes worms, and strengthens the teeth.
It also states: If a person constantly consumes "Jade Spring" (referring to saliva in the mouth), they will surely become vigorous and radiant, free from worm-caused decay, and have strong teeth.
The *Yangsheng Fang* states: Grinding the teeth morning and evening prevents dental caries.
It further states: After eating, one should rinse the mouth several times; otherwise, it leads to dental caries disease.
The *Yangsheng Fang* states: Anger and fullness damage the spirit. The spirit connects to the tongue; damaging the heart results in speech impediments (stammering).
The *Yangsheng Fang Daoyin Fa* (Guiding and Pulling Methods for Nourishing Life) states: Push both cheeks with both hands. Keep the arms still while hugging the elbows tightly. Do the same internally with the waist. Hold the position fixed, extending the heads of the two ribs outward and the elbows toward the waist. Continue until the Qi in the waist dissipates completely, feeling extremely stifled before rising. Perform this back and forth seven times to eliminate throat obstruction (*Hou Bi*).
It further states: Extend one hand long and join palms. Raise one hand to grasp the chin and pull it outward to the limit, maintaining this extreme posture fourteen times (two sevens). Do the same on both sides. Keep the hands still and pull forcefully to both sides fourteen times. This eliminates neck bone stiffness and rigidity, wind-cold affecting the head causing dizziness (*Tou Feng*), throat obstruction (*Hou Bi*), cold sensations flowing into the inner arms, and hemiplegic stroke (*Pian Feng*).
