(Also known as Kidney Gan)
*Taiping Shenghui Fang* records: Pediatric Ji Gan (Acute Malnutrition with Parasitic Infection) is caused by improper breastfeeding and feeding, specifically the excessive consumption of sweet and fatty foods. The sweet flavor enters the Spleen and stirs up parasites; parasites move due to sweetness, thereby damaging the Zang-Fu organs. If the parasites erode upwards into the gums, sores will form with bleeding, and the teeth will turn purple-black; if they erode downwards into the intestines and stomach, it leads to irregular diarrhea and an open, relaxed anus. Sores appear red and ulcerated, skin becomes dry and brittle, hair stands on end, milk and food fail to digest, and the body becomes emaciated and weak. If not treated early, the condition will progress to the critical stage of Gaohuang (deep-seated disease). Hence, it is called Ji Gan.
*Taiping Shenghui Fang* prescription for treating pediatric Ji Gan with emaciation, diarrhea, oral sores, and parasiticidal effects: Xionghuang Wan (Realgar Pill).
