According to *Chao Shi Bing Yuan* (Source of Diseases by Chao Yuanfang) regarding the syndrome of pediatric sores: Cold and heat pathogenic factors invade the meridians, causing stagnation and obstruction of Qi and blood. Initially, small scrofula nodules (scrofula) form, or they may appear as hard lumps the size of plums or jujubes, some resembling arrow shafts in length, others round or elongated, ranging from five to six fen in size, not exceeding one cun. There may be a single nodule or two to three connected ones. The patient frequently experiences alternating chills and fever, accompanied by continuous discharge of pus and blood; this condition is termed "Scrofula" (Luo Li). This is caused by the disharmony of the Qi of the Zang-Fu organs, leading to deficiency of Qi and blood, which makes the body susceptible to cold and heat pathogenic factors. However, scrofula-like diseases include various types such as Rat Scrofula (Shu Luo), Mole Cricket Scrofula (Lou Gu Suo), Earthworm Scrofula (Qiu Yin Suo), and Maggot Scrofula (Qi Cao), among others. Now, a prescription is provided to treat them.
*Qian Jin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) prescription for treating pediatric scrofula.
Take iron slag (Duan Shi) from tombs and apply it topically to the affected area. Applying it thickly yields good results.
Another prescription from *Qian Jin Fang*.
Burn mulberry roots to ash and apply topically. Mix this with ash from burnt black sheep horns and apply together.
*Qian Jin Yi Fang* (Supplement to Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) prescription for treating scrofula.
Take carp intestines, cut into five segments, and warm them over fire. First, wash the sore and dry it thoroughly. Apply the fish intestine to the lesion; replace it when it cools down. Continue from morning until night. When itching is felt, open it to check; if parasites emerge, the patient will recover.
Another prescription from *Qian Jin Yi Fang*.
Take three chicken eggs and steam them over rice for half a shichen (one hour). Extract the yolks and fry them until black. First, wipe the exudate from the sore until dry, then insert the medicine into the fistula opening. Do not exceed three applications.
Another prescription from *Qian Jin Yi Fang*.
Use pig fat rendered in the twelfth lunar month. Dip paper into the fat and insert it into the fistula opening. Apply five times during the day and three times at night.

Pound the four ingredients, sieve into powder, mix with pig grease, and insert into the fistula opening. Replace after a short while, five to six times daily.
*Qian Jin Yi Fang* prescription for treating Rat Fistula.
Dead rat (one medium-sized specimen), Tangled hair (size of a chicken egg).
Place these two ingredients in pig grease rendered in the twelfth lunar month, just enough to submerge them. Simmer over low heat until the rat and hair are completely dissolved and the ointment is formed. Apply to the sore. Additionally, take about half a qian orally with wine; the rat will be expelled from the sore.
