The *Shenghui Fang* states that ascariasis arises when children consume excessive sweets, greasy foods, or raw/cold items, which fail to digest in the intestines and transform into worms. Symptoms include sleeping face-down, rapid breathing, sallow complexion, emaciation, high-pitched crying, and symptoms resembling heart pain with irregular episodes. The condition worsens around the second, third, and fourth days of the lunar month. Unrecognized by laypeople and attributed to demonic influence, if not treated early, the worms will erode the zang-fu organs, leading to critical illness.
*Yu Jue* Verse:
Crying, aversion to phlegm, green stool, worms biting the heart, excessive saliva, cold accumulation, unbearable pain. Frequent consumption of sweets and seasonal fruits leads to deepening worm infestation.
