Xiao Pi Wan (Eliminate Accumulation Pill): Treats *pi* accumulation (masses or accumulations) under the hypochondrium, sallow complexion, emaciation, and afternoon fever resembling malaria.
Guanjian Shen (Official Selection Ginseng Root) (sliced, roasted dry), Biaozhu (White Atractylodes Rhizome) (soil-fried), Zheng Guangpi (Zheng Broad-leaf Tangerine Peel) (wine-fried), Bai Yunling (White Poria Sclerotium) (milk-steamed), Hang Qingpi (Hang Green Tangerine Peel) (vinegar-fried), Chuan Nongpu (Chuan Magnolia Bark) (ginger-processed), Xiao Zhishi (Small Immature Bitter Orange Fruit) (bran-fried), Fa Banxia (Processed Pinellia Tuber) (roasted), Xi Sharen (Western Amomum Fruit) (wine-fried), Liushenqu (Six Deities Mass) (fried), Chen Maiya (Aged Hordeum Sprout) (fried, above eleven herbs each 2 qian), Jiulei Die (Nine-rib Softshell Turtle Shell) (roasted, 3 qian), Jing Sanleng (Beijing Sparganium Rhizome) (baked), Peng Ezhu (Peng Curcuma Rhizome) (baked), Pao Heijiang (Charred Black Ginger) (above each 1 qian), Qing Huagui (Green Cinnamon Twig), Nan Muxiang (Southern Costus Root) (each 2 qian), Zheng Yalian (Zheng Coptis Rhizome) (fried with ginger juice, 2 qian).
Grind all into fine powder, bind with paste made from early rice flour to form pills. Take 1–2 qian per dose, adjusting according to the child's age and size, taken with rice water. Discontinue when the accumulation is resolved.
Zhe Shi Ai Pi Wan (Hematite Push-Accumulation Pill): Treats abdominal masses (*pi* lumps), alternating cold and heat, or intermittent pain. Suitable for children who are robust in constitution and have strong dietary habits. For those with inherently weak spleen and stomach, it must absolutely not be used; instead, use the aforementioned Xiao Pi Wan which combines attacking and tonifying methods, and recovery will occur gradually over time.
Dai Zhe Shi (Substitute Hematite Ore) (calcined, quenched in vinegar until brittle, ground to powder, washed with water), Hang Qingpi (Hang Green Tangerine Peel) (vinegar-fried), Peng Ezhu (Peng Curcuma Rhizome) (baked), Nan Muxiang (Southern Costus Root) (chopped), Qing Huagui (Green Cinnamon Twig) (each 3 qian), Badou Shuang (Croton Seed Frost/Residue) (oil removed completely, only the frost/residue taken, 1 qian), Chuan Dahuang (Chuan Rhubarb Rhizome) (2 qian).
Grind the above into fine powder, boil wheat flour paste in vinegar to form pills the size of radish seeds. Take 5 pills per dose, delivered with light ginger soup.
For treating accumulations (*ji*) knotting inside the chest and abdomen like a fist, and unbearable pain around the umbilicus: Use Zhuang Huang (Stylish Polygonatum Rhizome) 1 liang (steamed in wine), Pao Jiang (Prepared Ginger) 5 qian, Shu Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Lateral Root) 3 qian, Jiulei Die (Nine-rib Softshell Turtle Shell) 8 qian. Boil the turtle shell in good vinegar for a long time, remove, roast until crisp and yellow. Grind all together into fine powder. Use one sheng (approx. 200ml) of three-year-old aged rice vinegar, boil down to half a sheng, mix with the powder to form pills the size of mung beans. Take 10 pills per dose, on an empty stomach with rice gruel. Recovery occurs upon expelling accumulations resembling fish brain, necrotic blood, rotten flesh, or blue mud. Afterwards, regulate with spleen-tonifying methods. Note: This formula uses inexpensive herbs but has great efficacy, ten times stronger than Ai Pi Wan, truly deserving the title of miraculous.
For children developing *pi* accumulation due to a preference for drinking tea: Use 1 jin (approx. 500g) of fresh Feizi (Torreya Seed). On an empty stomach, at noon, and at dusk, take 14 grains per dose. Recovery occurs after finishing the course. Feizi is sold in capital fruit shops.
For pediatric food stagnation forming palpable masses: Boil 1 jin of large red dates with 1 liang of Xiaoming Piao (Mirabilite/Sodium Sulfate) until the water evaporates completely. Dry them. Eat one date daily, taking slowly until the mass dissipates.
When pediatric stagnation persists for a long time, it forms "Die" (Turtle-like) syndrome: a有形 entity within the abdomen that shakes its head and tail, large as a cup or small as a coin, invading upwards into the throat, eroding downwards into the anus, attaching to the hypochondriac spine, or hiding in the intestines and abdomen. Use raw Liu Huang (Sulfur) ground to an extremely fine powder. Take 1 qian mixed with old liquor daily, on an empty stomach. Long-term use will naturally dissolve it. The sulfur must be pale yellow like a newly hatched chick; those with green, red, or black hues are unsuitable. This substance is very stable and safe even in larger doses.
