Tracing back to the origins, since the "Sanfen" (Three Ancient Medical Texts) revealed medical mysteries, divine and sacred healers have emerged successively. The *Bencao* (Materia Medica) and *Neijing* (Inner Canon) shine like stars and the sun in the sky. Sages inherit the Way of Heaven to establish standards, achieving merit by settling heaven and earth and nurturing all things. Considering that within heaven and earth, yin and yang alternate and transform, and the pushing forward of Qi and blood (vital energy dynamics) changes over time, there are no fixed rules regarding the timing of their arrival, nor established laws regarding the promptness or delay of responses. Among these, the excess and recovery of the Six Excesses (Wind, Cold, Summer-heat, Dampness, Dryness, Fire - pathogenic factors), brewing disasters and calamities, evoke pity for the common people. How could they not suffer premature death or injury because of this? This is why Qibo (Disciple of Huangdi) transmitted teachings through ten generations, and the Yellow Emperor initiated questions in nine chapters, giving rise to the science of medicine.

I respectfully read where the Yellow Emperor said to Qibo: "How profound! The Way of the sages. The great transformation of heaven and earth—who but you, Master, can comprehend it? Please store it in the Linglan Chamber (a place for storing important texts). I dare not show it unless I have purified myself through fasting and ablutions." Even a sage as illustrious as Xuanyuan (the Yellow Emperor) esteemed medical affairs so highly. Is it not because he viewed all beings as one body, harboring compassion for all living things, desiring to elevate all people across ten thousand generations to benevolence and longevity?

Following the *Suwen* (Basic Questions), figures such as Yifangyin with his *Tangye Jing* (Classic of Decoctions), Huangfu Mi with his *Jiayi Jing* (Systematic Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion), Qin Yerren (Bian Que) with his *Nanjing* (Classic of Difficult Issues), Zhang Zhongjing with his *Jingui Yaolue* (Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Cabinet), Wang Shuhe with his *Maijing* (Pulse Classic), and Tao Hongjing with his *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* (Handbook of Prescriptions Kept Up His Sleeve), these few gentlemen, although they claimed to follow and expound upon the *Lingshu* and *Suwen*, actually engaged in creation through inheritance. Since then, medical practice has become sparse. Although authors have never been lacking in subsequent generations, it is difficult to find many works that are unbiased and perfectly balanced. Only at the end of the Ming Dynasty did Li Shizhen, Zhang Jingyue, and Yu Jiayan emerge successively. They elucidated the *Jingui Yaolue* and expounded upon the *Neijing*, sweeping away clutter and filth to return to purity and clarity. Their contribution to medical affairs was significant. However, although these individuals were born in the Ming Dynasty, their books only became widely popular and extensively used by the world in the early years of the Kangxi reign. This was likely due to the Sage Emperor's rule, whose virtue convinced both China and foreign lands, and whose benevolence harmonized all directions. Recently, the compilation of the *Yizong Jinjian* (Golden Mirror of the Medical Tradition) has spread throughout the empire. It is anticipated that people will be free from disease, and all things will grow and thrive. Thus, wise rulers and capable ministers are produced in advance to assist in the work of settling heaven and earth and nurturing all things; this is no coincidence.

However, the field of pediatrics remains somewhat regrettable. Although Yu Jiayan slightly opened its beginning, his discourse was incomplete. Every time I read books on "Jingfeng" (Pediatric Convulsions/Wind-stroke), I cannot help but sigh three times and shed tears! I was constitutionally weak and prone to illness since childhood. Regarding the essentials of observing complexion and pulse in medicine, I once devoted my mind to studying the secrets of life and nature taught by Master Changji Xianshi regarding the golden tripod and fire talismans. Thereafter, I wandered among seas and mountains, hoping to meet like-minded companions. With a bamboo staff and straw sandals, my travels covered nearly half the world. Within my residence, whether gentry, scholars, commoners, famous officials, or those of the lowest status, I recorded cases and provided convenient treatment. The number of clinical救治 (rescues and treatments) was beyond what pen and paper could exhaust. Yet, considering that the theory of Jingfeng is widely misinterpreted everywhere, and no one corrects it, causing innocent infants to suffer unjustly, continuing endlessly without end, I now take the theories of Jingfeng and comprehensively revise them, adding my own humble insights. Covering prenatal care, moxibustion and fire techniques, miscellaneous diseases, measles, smallpox, and burns/scalds, everything is thoroughly prepared. Compiled into six volumes, totaling 100,000 words. Upon completion and printing, I titled it *Youyou Jicheng* (Complete Collection for Children). In selecting physicians and weighing decisions, I strictly adhere to the principles of the classics, avoiding paralysis or bias, striving always for rationality and non-harm before stopping. I do not dare to recklessly criticize predecessors to satisfy my limited view. Rather, driven by the sincere desire to protect infants and seeking the mean, believing this book may offer some assistance, I cannot bear to remain silent. Disregarding my own arrogance and ignorance, I request correction from experts. Is this merely viewing the sea from a well or the sky from an urn? Establishing words to inspire future generations is merely to embody the ancient sages' heart of benevolence towards people and love for all things, expressing my humble sincerity like basking in the winter sun.

In the first month of the spring season of Gengwu year, the 15th year of Qianlong of the Great Qing, Chen Fuzheng Feixia wrote this at the Zhongxing Caotang in Yang.
