[Xue] Scrotal carbuncle belongs to damp-heat in the Liver channel, or is caused by congenital liver heat. At the initial stage, if swelling and pain occur with red and scanty urine, it indicates stagnation of damp-heat; initially use Longdan Xiegan Tang (Gentiana Decoction to Drain the Liver). If it does not subside, use Xianfang Huoming Yin (Immortal Life Elixir). If swelling and pain persist for several days, indicating suppuration is imminent, use Tuoli Xiaodu San (Supporting the Interior and Eliminating Toxin Powder). If swelling has not ulcerated but urination is difficult, this is stagnation of toxic qi; it should be treated by promoting diuresis. If pus has formed but urination remains difficult, the toxic qi has not been resolved; it should be drained by acupuncture. If pain persists after pus discharge, it indicates deficiency of Qi and Blood; tonification should be applied. If Yuan Qi (Original Qi) is not depleted, even if the entire scrotum ulcerates and the testicles are exposed, it will not cause harm. If the disease is caused by the wet nurse's anger, Jiawei Xiaoyao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) should be added. For patients with deficiency of Qi and Blood in the Liver channel, Bazhen San (Eight Treasures Powder) or Chaihu Shugan San modified with Gardenia and Radix Leuzeae (Loulu), taken by both mother and child, may be used.
Tuoli Qinggan San (Supporting the Interior and Clearing Liver Heat Powder)
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix, stir-fried), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, stir-fried), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Fu Ling (Poria), Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, stir-fried), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, stir-fried), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (each 0.7 fen), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) (0.4 fen).
Grind the above herbs into powder. Each dose is 2-3 qian, decocted in water.
Qian Shi Leiwan San (Qian's Earthworm Powder) treats swelling and hardness of the testicles. First wash with a decoction of green onion and pepper, then apply dry earthworm feces mixed with saliva to the affected area. Avoid wind, cold, and damp places.
A folk remedy for pediatric scrotal enlargement: decoct Licorice root into a thick juice, mix with earthworm feces, and apply to the site; effect is immediate.
Shanyao Gao (Dioscorea Paste) treats swelling, pain, or itching in the axillae/upper abdomen and lower abdomen. Grind Dioscorea rhizome into a paste, apply frequently to the affected area, and replace when dry.
[Xue] Frostbite of the toes occurs due to constitutional weakness and timidity, allowing Cold pathogenic factors to easily invade. This leads to stagnation of Qi and Blood. If prolonged without healing, it ulcerates into sores. The treatment method requires strengthening the Spleen and Stomach and warming Qi and Blood, so that necrotic tissue naturally sloughs off and healthy tissue regenerates. If bone is exposed and connected by tendons, the necrotic part should be urgently excised; otherwise, toxins spreading to the dorsum of the foot will cause death. Since Qi and Blood struggle to reach the extremities, and are blocked by external pathogens, circulation is impeded. Using hot water or fire to warm the area causes the flesh to die and become insensate, leading to ulceration and sloughing in spring. If Yuan Qi is intact, the condition is not harmful. However, applying cold medicines externally or taking detoxifying agents internally damages Yuan Qi and inevitably leads to fatal complications. It is best to frequently rub the frostbitten area with warm hands immediately after injury. In northern regions, do not touch frostbitten ears with bare hands, as they may fall off; extreme cold indeed cracks skin and causes fingers to drop, which is true.
Tang Shi Shengfu San (Tang's Raw Aconite Powder) treats gangrenous foot sores. Use powder of raw Aconite root, mix with flour and water, and apply to the lesion; it heals.
Bailian San (Ampelopsis Powder)
Use Ampelopsis rhizome (1 liang) and Phellodendron bark (stir-fried until black, 5 qian). Grind into powder and sprinkle dry onto the affected area.
