The *Lingyuan Fang* treats Tu Gui Dan (Earth Ghost Erysipelas). This disease initially appears like a blister from scalding water, enlarges within moments, and continues to erupt incessantly, potentially spreading to multiple areas, causing severe distress. It requires prompt treatment with the following prescription:
Chizu Wugong (Whole Centipede, one piece), Jichangcao (Herba Siegesbeckiae Orientalis), Jin Qiaomai (Rhizoma Fagopyri Dibotryis) (each 1 fen), Tonglv (Basic Copper Carbonate, 1 qian), Shexiang (Musk, a small amount).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. If the patient pierces the lesion with a needle, apply the powder onto the needle puncture and the surface of the erysipelas, then cover it with a paste made of vinegar and flour. If a patient is unaware of the infection and, after several days, loses appetite or cannot eat, administer the following medicine first:
Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae uralensis) (equal parts).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Administer half a qian or one qian with fresh cold water; recovery will be immediate.
This prescription is highly effective for treating Tu Gui Dan and wounds infected by horse sweat.
Wumei (Fructus Mume, roasted), Nuomi (Semen Oryzae Sativum Glutinosa), Xingren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum, peeled and destoned, ground), Dianhua (Plumbum Subacetatum, each 1 liang), Yanchi (Fermented Soybean Salt, 1.5 liang), Badou (Semen Crotonis Tiglii, twenty grains, destoned and peeled, fried in oil and ground).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder and make pills using starch paste. First, pierce the sore, then apply the medicine ground with vinegar, and cover with a vinegar-flour paste. Taking one or two pills internally is also beneficial.
Master Wang Ken-tang prohibits the use of treatments for Tu Gui Dan and She Chan Dan (Snake-wrapping Erysipelas):
[Text contains garbled characters "Pi Li HT HT HT", omitted]
Recite the incantation twenty-one times while exhaling breath onto the affected area. Stand facing Southeast, positioning the patient in the Northwest. Pinch the base joint of the middle finger with the thumb, and pinch the middle joint of the thumb with the index finger, doing this with both hands. Release the pinch when blowing air. Maintain this practice for forty-nine days; at dawn (Wu Geng), face North to receive and utilize it.
When the sore exposes bone and attaches to the ankle, it is called Gu Huo Dan (Bone Fire Erysipelas).
The *Qianjin Fang* instructs to crush garlic and apply it thickly as a poultice. The *Yingru Fang* instructs to lance the swelling to a depth of two cun, and apply a mixture of Niu Danzhi (Bovis Bile) and Dahuang powder.

Among these ten types of Dan toxins, changes are rapid and severe. If treatment is delayed, it may become incurable. Therefore, I do not hesitate to share these prescriptions. Carefully identify each type and treat according to these methods; success is assured. If untreated for three days, the pathogen attacks the Zang-Fu organs, and it becomes ultimately incurable. Do not delay.
