Methods for treating Ke Wu (intrusion of alien spirits) and night crying: Take one match head burned in the kitchen of one's own home; the one with a charred tip is superior. Write with cinnabar: "I am the Five Thunder Deities of Heaven, who will soon become divine generals capable of capturing. I bind the night-crying ghost tightly and never release it. Hurry! By the decree of Taishang Laojun." Once written, do not let the child know. Stand under the bed, leaning against the front leg of the bed. For boys, stand on the left; for girls, on the right; this is effective.

Huangtu San (Yellow Earth Powder): Treats sudden Ke Wu in infants.
Ingredients: Zaozhong Huangtu (Yellow earth from the stove), Qiuyin Shi (Earthworm excrement) in equal parts.
Preparation: Grind evenly. Mix with water and apply to the infant's head and the five centers (palms and soles); this is excellent.

Prescription for Night Crying from *Qianjin Fang* (*Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold*):
During pregnancy, feed the infant with foods that the mother had specific cravings for; this will be effective.

Prescription for Infant Night Crying from *Waitai Miyao · Bixiao* (*Preserved Prescriptions from the Outer Cabinet · Must-Effective Formulas*):
When the sun has not yet risen and at noon, have the infant lie supine. On the horizontal line above the umbilicus, hold breath and write characters resembling blood using cinnabar. The crying will cease that night; this is effective.

[Chen Cangqi] adds:
Grass by the well mouth treats infant night crying. Place it under the mother's sleeping mat without her knowledge.

*Zimu Milu* (*Secret Records of Mother and Child*) for treating infant night crying:
Hang the strap of a steamer basket above the door.

[Meng Shen] for infant night crying:
Take a piece of dry cow dung the size of a hand, place it under the sleeping mat without the mother's knowledge; both mother and child will be auspicious.

*Jiyan Fang* (*Collected Proven Prescriptions*): Xianren Zhang (Immortal's Staff). It is good for treating infant convulsions and night crying when kept as a companion during sleep.

*Rihua Zi Bencao* (*Materia Medica of Rihua Zi*): Grass found inside a pigsty treats infant night crying. Place it under the mat without the mother's knowledge.

*Rihua Zi Bencao* also states: Wings of a black hen treat infant night crying. Place them under the mat without the mother's knowledge.

*Shenghui Fang* (*Holy惠民 Prescriptions*): Write the character "Jia" (甲) below the umbilicus; the condition will resolve.

Another prescription: Take grass from a tree hole and hang it above the door; crying will stop immediately.

Another prescription: Take a cart wheel rim, secretly place it under the mother's bed without her knowledge.

Another prescription: Take decayed grass from an abandoned well and hang it above the door; this is excellent.

Another prescription: Take ash from cow dung and place it under where the mother sleeps, without her knowledge.

Additionally, three talisman methods for treating infant night crying:
[Image] This talisman is applied to the palms of both hands. [Image] This talisman is applied to the center of the umbilicus. [Image] Apply to the bedroom door.

*Tingru Shu* (*Book for Infants and Children*) method for treating infant night crying:
Have the mother remove her outer garment, wearing only inner clothing. Kneel at the four corners of the house and say: "Western White Emperor, Eastern Green Emperor, Southern Red Emperor, Northern Black Emperor, Central Yellow Emperor, I beg you to cut off the night crying of certain person Jia. On the day of repaying kindness, I will offer wine and meat, whatever is desired. The repayment method involves placing five portions of offerings centered in the courtyard corners; thus, four portions at the four corners and one portion in the center. Looking up to the Five Emperors, say: 'Today I repay the offerings prayed for as desired.'"

Liu Shi Fang (Formula of Master Liu): Treats infant night crying.
Write: "If you see me through form, or seek me through sound, such a person walks the evil path and cannot see the Tathagata." Burn into ash and swallow. For boys, take one unit in the left hand; for girls, one unit in the right hand.
