Scorpions are divided into male and female. A sting from a male scorpion causes pain localized in one area; apply mud from the bottom of a well to it. A sting from a female scorpion causes pain that radiates throughout the body; apply wet soil collected from under roof eaves. If there is no rain, pour fresh water over soil on tiles, collect the resulting wet mud, and apply it externally.
Pound snail shells (specifically referring to *Planorbis* or flat-bodied snails) into a paste and apply externally for excellent results. For a scorpion bite, mix cinnabar (Yinzhu) with egg white and apply externally. Another prescription: Mix equal parts of raw Pinellia Rhizome (Sheng Banxia) and alum (Baifan), blend with vinegar, and apply to the wound for immediate healing. Alternatively, apply alum (Danfan); the pain will subside instantly. For severe pain from a scorpion sting, soak the affected area in cold water to relieve pain; if the water warms slightly and pain returns, replace with fresh cold water. Chewing mint leaves thoroughly and applying them to the site also brings about recovery.
Grind wild chrysanthemum flowers into fine powder, mix with wine, and drink until intoxicated for effective results. If flowers are unavailable, use four taels of roots and leaves, decocted with two bowls of wine and two bowls of water; take seven-tenths of the volume. One method involves applying human feces to the affected area; fresh feces are particularly effective, surpassing other medicines. Another method: Immediately go to a stream or river, wash the injured area, squeeze out blood completely, and drink plenty of ginger juice to resolve the toxin. Bandage the wound tightly to prevent exposure to wind. Another prescription: Take one tael of single-stemmed Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng) and one tael of Arisaema Rhizome (Tiannanxing, processed seven times), dry them, grind them into powder, and take one qian per dose with warm water. After half a day, take another dose; recovery occurs after sweating and bowel movement. Another formula: Rinse the mouth with fermented grain water, then take sliced Arisaema Rhizome (Tiannanxing, stir-fried with weak ginger water, two qian) and authentic Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng, two qian), grind into powder, and apply dry powder to the wound; this is effective and prevents recurrence. Additionally, frequently drinking leek... [text fragment] grinding rice into powder... [text fragment] until cessation. Recovery.
Take five qian of high-quality Realgar (Xionghuang) and five fen of real Musk (Shexiang), grind them into powder, mix with wine, and apply an amount equivalent to two qian externally. After application, the patient must sleep; do not disturb them.
(This item is similar to the previous one.) Immediately suck out toxic blood in a windless place; if no blood flows, prick the area with a needle to induce bleeding, clean with urine, mix Realgar powder with sesame oil, add a small amount of Musk, and apply externally. In case of emergency without medicine, mix soot from kitchen chimneys (Baicaoshuang) with sesame oil for external application, or apply thick earthworm feces; both can provide emergency relief. Method to disperse toxin: Grind black soybean ferment (Douchi) with raw sesame oil to make a paste, form into pills the size of marbles, and frequently rub onto the bitten area. Break open the pill; if dog hair is found inside, it indicates the toxin has been expelled. Replace with a new pill and continue rubbing until no more hair appears, indicating recovery.
