After childbirth, a fleshy cord hangs out, approximately three to four chi long. Touching it causes excruciating pain radiating to the heart and abdomen, nearly causing death. This is caused by excessive exertion. Do not pull it off forcibly; if severed, it becomes difficult to treat. Take three jin of old ginger (crushed with skin) and two jin of sesame oil. First, fold an old piece of silk cloth into a long strip, gently lift the hanging fleshy cord, bend it, and divide it into three masses to insert back into the vaginal opening. Then, mix the aforementioned medicines, stir-fry until dry, place while hot into a silk bag, and fumigate the area. Replace with fresh hot bags when slightly cooled. Fumigation for one day can retract most of it; another day of fumigation leads to complete recovery. (From *Nanyue Xianfang*)
