Take a handful of *Daphne genkwa* (Yuanhua) with roots, cut it up, and sun-dry it thoroughly. Let the patient wrap the medicinal root in a straw mat and grind it themselves, allowing the dust to rise and enter the seven orifices (eyes, ears, nose, mouth). After a short while, tears will flow, and the mouth and nose will feel spicy and irritating; stop when the *Daphne genkwa* root is exhausted, and the illness will be cured. (From *Gujin Luyan*)
For cold-pathogen condensation in the chest (Jie Xiong syndrome), or if one feels blocked qi when eating and fullness in the epigastrium, take good distilled liquor (Baijiu), heat it thoroughly, dip two pieces of cloth into the hot liquor, and wipe from below the chest upwards. *Long pepper* (Bibo), *Asarum* (Xixin), and *Borneolum Syntheticum* (Zhangnao): grind these three herbs into powder. Dip a finger into the powder and rub the teeth.
