Swallowing a Needle: Crush two sweet almonds (Prunus armeniaca seed) into a paste, mix with lard (Porcine Fat), and ingest. The needle will be expelled naturally. (From *Jingxiu Zhai Fang*)
Swallowing Needles or Iron: Take a piece of natural magnetite (Magnetitum) the size of a jujube pit, drill a hole through it, thread a string through the hole, swallow it, and then pull the string to immediately extract the foreign body. (From *Qie Zhong Fang*)
Bone Stuck in the Throat: Take five qian of chestnut meat (Castanea mollissima), grind it into powder, add two and a half qian of frankincense (Boswelliae Carthii Resina) and one fish liver, pound them together into pills the size of wheat seeds. Observe the depth of the impaction, tie a string to a pill wrapped in cotton, moisten it with water, swallow it, and then pull the string to hook out the bone. (From *Shengji Zonglu*)
Another prescription: Use the thin inner skin of a chestnut, burn it until carbonized but retaining its medicinal properties (Cortex Castaneae Mollissimae Carbonisatus), grind into powder, and insufflate it into the throat. The bone will drop down with miraculous effect. (From *Qiankun Shengyi*)
Various Bones Impacted: On the noon hour of the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, stand in a leek field facing east, remaining silent. Collect earthworm excrement (Vermis Excrementum). When encountering an impacted bone, apply a small amount to the external throat area; the bone will dissolve spontaneously. (From *Qiankun Mi Yun*)
Another prescription: Scrub the external throat area with the claws of a badger (Mustela sibirica claw); the bone will drop down. (From *Bian Yi Liang Fang*)
Chicken Bone Impaction: Kill a live chicken, remove the endosternial cartilage (Corium Gigeriae Galli) and wash it clean. Wrap it in ephedra-like rush pith (Junci Medulla), burn it over fire until carbonized, place it in a bamboo tube, and insufflate it into the throat to dissolve the bone. Another prescription: Sprinkle powder of gallnut (Galla Chinensis) into the throat; the bone will dissolve and drop down. (From *Hai Shang Fang*)

Another prescription: Insufflate powder of soap pod (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus) into the nose to induce sneezing, which will expel the bone. (From *Sheng Hui Fang*)
Pig Bone Impaction: Scrape ivory (Elephantis Dens) into powder, let it float on fresh well water, and inhale/swallow it. The bone will be expelled. (From *Qi Fang Lei Bian*)
Fish Bone Impaction: Secretly insert a single fish spine into another person's head; without revealing the trick, the bone will drop down. (From *Same Source*)
Another prescription: If the fish bone remains after six or seven days, take a string of amber beads (Electrum), push them into the location of the impaction, and pull to extract it. (From *Waitai Miyao*)
Fish Spine or Jujube Pit Stuck in Throat: Take a live chicken, do not kill it, but surgically remove the intestines directly from the abdomen. Clean the impurities without letting it touch water. Take a one-chi long bowstring, double it, and insert it into the intestine. Observe whether the bone/pit is on the left or right, manipulate the intestine so that the foreign body adheres to it, and withdraw it. Then, insufflate powder of dragon's blood (Sanguis Draconis) into the affected area. Do not consume hot food immediately. (From *Lü Zhu Tang Fang*)
Wood Splinter in Throat: Grind an iron axe with water to create iron-water, and drink it to cure the condition. (From *Bai Yi Xuan Fang*)
